Daniel Wenzel gets invitation to U-17 residency in Bradenton Florida

From Anita Wenzel today..........

"Daniel just got an invitation to go with the 89 MNT (yr older) to Japan Aug 6-15, and into the residency program in Sept."

I asked Anita if I could break the story on WPS Soccer. Her response is below......

"Yes-- of course you can break the story! I already accepted for him knowing that has been his hope and a dream that he has worked really hard for. The kid plays every chance he can get. Practicing with not just his own team but with Micah's, and heading to Arena Sports for pick up indoor games a couple nights a week. He's also very diligent about working out by himself for a good 90 minutes or so a day on those days he can't get some other form of training. There has never been a question of whether or not he would go if invited. :)"

WPS Soccer thought it was important to share this with everyone, because personally I know it's been a dream for Daniel. His parents have not only supported him as a player, but he has worked, dreamed, and achieved one of his goals in soccer.

WPS Soccer will follow this announcement with an article on Tuesday of next week after talking with Daniel in person. I would hope the entire soccer community would be proud of what he's accomplished.
