1 thing I am noticing
« on: September 09, 2008, 10:13:43 AM »

Why is Obama talking so much about Palin? Is he not running against McCain? I was into one of his speeches yesterday, but then realized, why does he keep bringing Palin up? It was almost as if he was running for the VP job

Also, McCain needs to do a better job of memorizing his speeches. I know he is not known for his speaking abilities, but when he goes up against Obama, he will get eaten up.

Maybe Vegas can make some money off this debate :D

Obama sees Palin as a threat/vote-getter.  He wants to assure the American people that he is the main ticket here.  Also wants to show what she brings to the table is not entirely accurate.

There is a very good chance Palin would become President, McCain is how old again?  He might not make it to the next election....if you know what I mean.  :o

As for McCains speaking abilities..............ever listen to Bush?  :-\

I'm guessing it's because he and his advisors are tyring to get 'back' those folks they may have lost to the Republican ticket when she was announced and gave her awesome speach and subsequent speaches.   Guessing as well that she, Sarah Palin, has taken a large portion of the pollsters and favor has shifted to the Rep. Ticket.  I'm thinking Obama and advisors are trying to get those votes back come election time.  Not a silly tactic, but yeah, pretty obvious too.  The debates are where it's gonna be for me.

I just realised I said the same thing repeatedly over and over redundantly :)  in my first three sentenced lol.

imma dork, don't forget

I agree to a certain extent, but I think the shift that Palin contributed too was getting the Republican Base(right conservatives) off their couches and those people are not going to vote for Obama. What I am trying to say is that, even though he may convince a few semi-democrate or independants, he is wasting his time on the real Palin voters, who will not vote for him.

Also, the more he bashes her the higher he risks of stating something that will anger women. Just to risky, if you ask me. Sunday night he made a boo boo and said "Let’s not play games, what I was suggesting you’re absolutely right that John McCain has not talked about my Muslim faith”.
You know how fast that got out? Risky, Risky, but I guess that is politics and what do I know about running a campaign

I think McCain / Palin should hire Biden to work for thier campain.  Nothing the republican say can help as much as this.

Quote
Biden: Palin Would Be 'Backward Step for Women'
@ 1:08 pm by Andy Barr
Sen. Joe Biden (D-Del.) says that if Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) becomes the first female vice president it will be a "backward step for women."

Asked by a local television reporter in Milwaukee, Wisconsin if electing Palin would be a step forward for women, Biden said, "well look, I think the issue is what does Sarah Palin think? What does she believe?"

"I assume she thinks and agrees with the same policies that George Bush and John McCain think," Biden added. "And that's obviously a backward step for women."

OK now Obama is helping the McCain Palin side!  ;D

Quote
Obama poked fun of McCain and Palin's new "change" mantra.

"You can put lipstick on a pig," he said as the crowd cheered. "It's still a pig."

"You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change. It's still gonna stink."

"We've had enough of the same old thing."

The crowd apparently took the "lipstick" line as a reference to Palin, who described the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull in a single word: "lipstick."

It really sounds like Obama is kickin himself for not taking Hillary(Woman)as his running mate so bash Palin they feel they may gain the woman voters back but may just come back to bite them

if women are honest, the issues such as health care, rowe v wade, compensation for work done....record on voting etc will balance things out well enough for the Dem's.
what i mean by honest is.....not being swayed so much by gender as by issues and positions on policy.   The deabates will tell much of the bigger picture :)
this holds true for men too......  I may be a bit liberal, at times conservative......with gender seemingly playing a historic role in this election and for our nation on the whole, issues facing womens rights is a big one and if I sway to and fro personally with no hard stance perhaps, it would help to know the stance of both dems and reps......  clue me in candidates :)

I was laughing at the quotes, not at you personally silly.  Did anyone ever say I truly hate the election time of year.
