I am glad you posted this!  Look at the comments.  Someone said, just what I have been trying to point out for months without me posting it.

I think you're missing a major part of the point when black Americans vote for Obama with his race in mind-- There are so few black men in the public eye who aren't either athletes or musicians, and having the face of a black man as the president of the united states, the highest position attainable in the free world, could not only bring huge strides to the black community in our country, but also to that of the entire world. We need someone who isn't an old white man making choices for once.

Think about the average black man trying to come up in a white man's world.  Maybe for a change, they won't be passed on a promotion they deservingly worked so hard for only to have the position given to someone much less qualified for the job.  What about all those young black men coming up?  Momma is going to say, if Obama can do it, so can you!  If he becomes our next president...wow!

If I had Obama's resume and people knew that I had his associations, I couldn't even get a managerment job anywhere, unless I hid them. Is that fair? Try joining the military with those associations and don't tell me he was 8 because we all know he did not associate with him when he was 8 or attended Jeremiah Wrights church with ear plugs.

Re your comments about race: Minorities make up half the population in the US, so are we now to say, you do not have to be qualified to be president, just be a different color. Again, I don't care what color a president is, what I do care is that they are qualified. Do you want an unqualified boss?

Sorry you don't get it again. There have been a lot of men that have held the position that many wonder how they got there.  Clearly like past presidents he did something right to get there.

It is going to be nice to have a president that is a constitutional law scholar that graduated first in his class from Harvard. Someone that has actually read the constitution and understands the constitution would be a nice change.
It will also be nice to have a president that can actually speak and understands what he is talking about.  We won’t need to hide under our desk when he comes on the TV.
Hopefully we will get back the respect we had around the world. Most people are tired of the tough guy cowboy role.
Also, we will have somebody that understands that Supply side economics has been a complete disaster.
