HS Soccer Playoff - SPSL 4A Playoffs

Here are my predictions. Let's hear it...

#1 - Kentwood (North) vs. Beamer (South) - Kentwood wins 2 - 1
#2 - Emerald Ridge vs. Auburn Riverside - Emerald Ridge wins 1-0
#3 - Tahoma vs. Puyallup - Tahoma wins 1 - 0
#4 - Jefferson vs. Decatur - Decatur wins 2 - 1

That will be tough game between Beamer and Kentwood as both schools had tough weeks last week and I am sure will be on fire for this return match.

I have to admit, I'm a newbie to HS soccer. I compiled this list by searching the schedules of the top four teams in each of the two SPSL 4A divisions on the Seattle Times Web site. I'd also like to know where to find an official list.

Wow--saw that Kentwood defeated Beamer 3-0 last night :o  Who was at the game and can give a report.  Big win or was Beamer missing some folks?  Maybe Kentwood woke up and started playing offensive soccer.  Maybe they are acting again like the top team in the state.  Good for them.

Riverside outshot Emerald Ridge 20-3 but failed to convert their goals where Emerald Ridge put in 2 of their 3 shots.  Score does not show how the game was played.  Riverside had 2 goals called back, one questionable offsides and one 50/50 with the goalie that resulted in a freekick for Emerald Ridge.  Another ref would probably have let it go or if it was a boys game would have let it go.  Riverside was not as aggressive in the air and to the ball as Emerald Ridge which looked to play a high pressure ball oriented defense.  If Riverside can convert their shots they can play with the upper teams but I guess we will wait and see what happens ???
