Well who do we all really blame
1 cub
2PDL
3parents
4 non pament
5 unreal exspetaions by all involved ?

I can only say you all better evaluate what kind of message your teaching your kidS

I for one would rolled up my sleeves

I for one have gotten another job to make sure my kids schools get there cash and my kids are aware of tuffer times and are doing there part also

What are you doing?

Your exspetaions made alot of clubs do things that had nothing to do with good youth soccer so LIVE with it!!

Its all your fault I for one have always checked the rating of my kids schools  and I for one got very involved when they played youth soccer to make sure shit bags did not run my kids exsperance into the ground

Blam your selfs first then fix IT!!!

I will reluctantly lean toward #3 Parents, but I hesitate to give a, "shame on you" to them as again this may be an economics problem...Lets see pay rent or pay club fees...boeing on strike for months hummmm....Hard for a CP to explain to a DD or DS... pride issues

I don't think it rocket science. The club should have figured out right away if they had the numbers and the teams for there buget. Then you have to cut the over head postions. Why did it take so long to figure out and why did the DOC have anything to do with the money?

There are a lot of issues here that we know nothing about.

DOC didn't have anything to do with the $ per say, but if my facts are straight, he was the one that put out the budget and the board members ( who had some turnover) didn't pay close enough attention to it and failed to deal with it until recently. Not enough hands in the cookie jar making sure things were needed/ kept up

high budget to start with and not enough players to meet that budget will put you behind.

I was told that the board and others were pushing to see the numbers and DOC was not sharing, just telling them it fine. This is just what I have been told

Why would the DoC have control over the numbers?  Isn't there a club Treasurer on the board?

With the recent turnover of board members there was definitely a lack of oversight of DOC and administrative personnel. There is a treasurer involved who is definitely helping to straighten out the problem as well as some other number crunchers who are helping get things on the right track. Coaches are still getting paid at the club. Yes there has been an adjustment, but not what most people think, only a small % reduction for some. There is going to be an influx of volunteer help, and also fundraising that is going to happen. With the delay in payments from players due to the confusion of the Bonzi/paypal system and frustrations by those parents that have witheld money, not knowing what is going to happen, it has put the budget behind. Not to mention losing 2-3 teams at a cost of around $50,000 annually, all of that has a ripple effect without constant monitoring, oversight and adjustment. Budgets are often made with assumptions regarding number of teams, number of players per team, sponsor money etc., all of these things have been a factor here. They will get back on track, and will be more careful down the road. They are not broke and do have money in the bank. Most all of the coaches understand what is going on and are willing to help the process get better, so to all of you coaches who are helping to keep this club moving forward and remaining where you are for the love of the game and success of the kids, a HUGE shout out and sincere THANKS for caring and being a part of the solution to a temporary issue.

Well I feel it is a unfortunate thing for any club to go through.  I also just want to remind everyone that clubs rely on tournaments as a main fundraiser and if you are not able to put one on then you will be taking a hit.  The Evergreen International did not happen this past summer....

We can not really point fingers when I think there are several factors (like Brat mentioned) that we don't know about.

The amount of profit made from that tourny was similar to what 4 players cost to play for the year, so it really was not a significant loss.

DOUBLE BARRELL WROTE: "I was told that the board and others were pushing to see the numbers and DOC was not sharing, just telling them it fine. This is just what I have been told."

DOUBLE BARRELL, among those who were pushing to see the numbers were the full-time paid staff members and technical directors, who sensed early that revenues might be falling short of projected expenses and wanted to do their best to help resolve the problem early on. They wanted to do the right thing but were stonewalled. It's truly unfortunate they lost their positions -- they are friends of mine and really fine people! I earnestly hope their reputations do not suffer because they have no culpability in this situation.

My wife and I have had personal contact with Stuart and Missy and both were very understanding and listened to our frustrations w/o trying to make excuses for problems we had. As you stated they are very fine people who I would have loved to have coached my DD's. I hope each of them nothing but the best.
