I was told that the board and others were pushing to see the numbers and DOC was not sharing, just telling them it fine. This is just what I have been told
I also hearing this is a true statement. DOC wouldn't let anyone see the numbers. Hmmmm!!!!
Why would the DoC have control over the numbers? Isn't there a club Treasurer on the board?
With the recent turnover of board members there was definitely a lack of oversight of DOC and administrative personnel. There is a treasurer involved who is definitely helping to straighten out the problem as well as some other number crunchers who are helping get things on the right track. Coaches are still getting paid at the club. Yes there has been an adjustment, but not what most people think, only a small % reduction for some. There is going to be an influx of volunteer help, and also fundraising that is going to happen. With the delay in payments from players due to the confusion of the Bonzi/paypal system and frustrations by those parents that have witheld money, not knowing what is going to happen, it has put the budget behind. Not to mention losing 2-3 teams at a cost of around $50,000 annually, all of that has a ripple effect without constant monitoring, oversight and adjustment. Budgets are often made with assumptions regarding number of teams, number of players per team, sponsor money etc., all of these things have been a factor here. They will get back on track, and will be more careful down the road. They are not broke and do have money in the bank. Most all of the coaches understand what is going on and are willing to help the process get better, so to all of you coaches who are helping to keep this club moving forward and remaining where you are for the love of the game and success of the kids, a HUGE shout out and sincere THANKS for caring and being a part of the solution to a temporary issue.
