...and then there were 4...
« on: February 13, 2006, 03:08:27 AM »

Ahhhh ,Spring...a great time of the year (except back East...26 in. of snow in NYC?)...  the sun has returned and my SAD, like the waters of Lk. Sammamish, is receding,

 my UConn Huskies

and my Pistons are soaring high,

...and hopefully Buck Shot Cheney et al  are going to jail :P
..

what more could I ask for :?:

...how about  EFC Red  heading back to the Semis for the second year in a row after their Godzilla-like win over NWN Dynamo! 8)

Once again they must play Xfire, their #1 nemesis to date with no wins in 3 years! :x  :x  Can they do it? The naysayers and pundits on SP

have already written them off. Others think it may be 50-50. I say YES!!
How say you on WPS  :?:

My predictions for the week (4-0 last week in QFs):

FCUnited(or is that WPFCUnited :?:   ) 4, Snohomish Arsenal 1...I say this only because Snohomish gave up 3 to EFC in a hard scrimmage 2 weeks ago, losing 3-2, without the starting EFC keeper playing. I think United will dominate and be the 800lb gorilla in this SF game.

 EFC   2, Xfire-James 1... in a shootout!!
It's time the boys in Red got the monkey off their backs and send the   home early this year and return to the Finals  :!:  :!:  :!:

Didn't Godzilla beat King Kong in their Final Battle :?:    :?:
A little Blue Oyster Cult anyone??

I wish there was an emoticon for BORING.  Why do liberals/democrats have to insert politics into EVERYTHING?  Yes, we know you hate G.Bush and believe every election you lose was stolen, you hate the rich, all republicans are guilty of something, yada, yada, yada.  GET OVER IT!  We are all in this together, we live a short live, have our children with us even a shorter time, live in the best country EVER, and elect leaders who generally are trying to make this an even better nation (democrats and republicans alike).

Just a comment,  at the beginning of State Cup I asked my son who he thought would get to the finals,  his response was Dynamo vs FC United with FC United advancing and Crossfire vs EFC with guess who?  EFC advancing.......perhaps he's on to something....
His final prediction later....... ;)

Just a footnote,  out of 8 or 9 NWN boys and girls teams (combined) playing in quarterfinals,  only three made it to semi's,  NWN Fusion GU-17,  NWN Shamrocks GU-18,  and NWN Pharoahs Boys-U18.   The Nationals need to pick it up and get to the next level,  especially the Dynamo.

Nice post Ed.  And just so VMS knows, In the original movie "Godzilla vs KingKong" there were 2 endings made.

In the US it showed KingKong walking into the sunset at the end of movie after both had fell in ocean.  Overseas, and in most other countries it showed Godzilla. ;)

Good luck to all 4 teams remaining in your Statecups for Boys U14!

It is nice to learn so much about that age group from you crazy dudes, keep up the great work and the great rivalry

Sorry Roxy...can't blame you for hating people who actually think about things... and see the hilarity in those that say they have the mandate of the people (is 49% a majority?) and then show how stupid they really are...somewhere in Dakota a village is missing its idiot...can't wait to watch John Stewart tonite!!

Agreed, it's best left somewhere else besides a soccer site. Let's talk about the beautiful game, no whining about who's pres, or who isn't.

Besides, it either comes out of the left pocket to pay for govt programs, or the left pocket to pay higher prices from big business. Either way; it comes out. So let's concentrate on the important stuff; soccer.

NWN Forza not getting back to the state championship game should make all who get there really appreciate the moment.  Forza is an excellent team, even better than last year's state championship group, who just had the ball bounce the wrong way for them Saturday.  Two years ago (U11) it was the Timbers who won this age group.  Last year Forza, this year a new champ.  There's a great deal of parity in this age group, and next year's LPTs should be quite a battle.

Consistency as well as healthy players are key.  Some injuries and illnesses are unavoidable, but others with the correct training, coaching may be preventable.

Maybe Forza just needs to be more consistent..............

Fellow WPSers...  I happen to find parallels between life and soccer on many levels. But it is your choice to lighten up or ignore me...or better yet, write something that others can respond to. There is always more fun stirring the pot a little!!

Good call, Squash dude

There are plenty of places on the web where people to spout off their particular political views, or share their unique and  wonderful "insights" (or rants) with the folks who - by visiting the site - are making a conscious choice to read about politics.

Your site is unique in that it foucses on local youth soccer.   If we wanted to read about someone's political views, we'd click elsewhere.

Thanks for working on this site; it's interesting.

there's plenty of political forums around with people screaming at each other all the time, and everyone is always right, so I really liked this forum, with it's lack of lunatics posting hate mail about the Pres. A person can and should have any belief that suites them, this is America after all. But I don't want to see it or have to scroll through it here. As they say in the bars; "take it outside guys".

Kennard said what I meant better than I did.  Hope VMS gets back to his funny posts about SOCCER.  By the way, this village idiot's favorite Blue Oyster Cult song is "Astronomy".

Just heard this,   Mr. Bill Clinton upon hearing the news of Dick Cheney and colleagues and the hunting trip accident, was asked by a reporter if "he,  Mr. Clinton had ever handled a gun?'" Mr. Clinton's reply was, " depends upon what the meaning of gun is."  ;)        ;)  ;)  ;)  ;)  ;)
