Fit and comfort are most important...especially when you have serious corrections (orthotics).  One of our kids blew threw cleats (literally) because of the extra wear/pressure from the orthotic.  They have given up the "hottest" cleats in favor of what fits the best.  They can be pricey but we shop around and try to get the best price (even if it's last year's model).  I'd rather spend the money on a good fit then for the Hottest cleat that won't last (for their needs).

Because its cheaper to get one or two really good pairs that fit her wide foot and dont hurt... then to buy pair after pair after pair of cheaper ones that end up hurting her feet.  ::)   Average we spent per pair is $139ish.   But have spent up to $200  :o

Now that Tink's feet have stopped growing the $139.00 range is about right for her.  Spent $65.00 on Gupsters, but she would rather wear Tink's old Puma Kings.  I can't blame her, great cleats.

$85 - $150 for the little Dawg.....she wears orthotics too and the better quality cleats seem to work better.

Puma Kings are a great shoe...scored many of goals for old Yote back in the day.  I say depending on the age, but for anyone over the age of 14 spend good money on a quality shoe (kind of like kangaroo leather) that the player is able to take care of properly.  For younger ages, no need to buy expensive.  Just know that in the northwest with our weather, a shoe that will hold up to rain, mud and goose poop is a key.

GOTTA LUV the Puma King's,  DD got hooked on them 2 years ago and it was great cuz she was still in kids sizes=$55.  Just got her a new pair of the women's Kings last week and of course she is a women's size now=$125.  Definately worth the quality though!

Adidas Copa Mundials is pretty much our team shoe. Coaching staff highly recommended also because of the type of studs on bottom -something about cleats not grabbing/getting stuck in surfaces blowing out knees/ACL  ???  About $95.00 per

Tink's second pair of Kings were getting really really ratty (the gold ones).  I asked her what cleats she wanted next and she said the exact same ones.  A few days later I found myself in Soccer West and they were on sale 30% off.  I called her to make sure then bought two pair.  ;D

Man Gumby ... I want you for a dad.  I remember I used to have to ride the bus down to Seattle and buy my own shoes from Denzel.  What a trip that was..Denzel was the best.

I'm actually realling interested in finding out what brands/styles run really wide.  My DS has really wide feet and blows through cleats like crazy!  Loved the Kelme's but didn't last very long...

My kiddo has really wide feet and the flattest feet in history (might be a slight exaggeration) with orthotics.  Wearing, Umbro SX Flare right now, last pair was Umbro SX valor.

To be honest these cleats have been arund forever and there is a reason why. Great cleats for the price compare to the majority of cleats ut there. Probably be my next pair becuase i can't find old school F-50s from about 5 years ago.

Its not quite that way yote.  One pair stayed in the closet for a good month.  The other pair is still there and will be for another six months or so.

Does that count as "paying it forward"?  Nah... probably not...  ;)

My 95 DD's cleats run between $65.00-$100.00. Real leather Adidas something or others. 97 DD gets the cheapies, she hasn't topped out yet. Although I got a good deal ($40.00?) on some leather Puma's at Soccer West so she got leather as well. I just wish that's all I bought that day.

We can't afford soccer equipment.  We tape shoes together and use socks for shinguards.

$130 ish for Nick First 2 Fit.....DD has extremely narrow feet.

I heard that Umbro is the best for wide feet.

DS goes through cleats about every few months. Looks like the dog chews on them, but he is very ruff on his cleats! Rarely gets another brand (Diadora), but sticks with Puma. Puma Kings have been his favorite since 9. Just got the new Puma King XL's and I was told by hubby that he got a deal on them (yeah, uh huh). But usually spend about $150 at most. Usually can get a better deal at $100 during Christmas for last years models that were anywhere between $200-250. Who cares if they are a year old!
He has wide, flat feet. Heel problems and Pumas have been hands down the best. Physical therapist says stick with what works. We switched to Addidas, and they were not good on his feet in the least -- but that was for his foot.

DD got a new pair last week. New Puma V-Kon II. Hubby said he got a good deal on them (yeah, uh huh). But only spend at most $125 (except for the pair above I question).
Just have always waited for those good deals, last year models and such. We can only afford one pair for each kid since we have so many kids playing soccer. We are buying too many throughout the year!
*I will say these cleats she loves! Lighter, and says they keep her feet warm with the material it is made out of. Kangaroo leather always tears, but oh so nice & leather is cold and absorbs the water. These things are great for the weather for sure!

DD TIP ONLY --
If your DD wears womens size, buy boys cleats. Prices vary on the size of the foot. They go down in size to a boys size, this is much less expensive!

I totally agree on this. Kangaroo stretches like crazy, especially when it gets wet. I wear synthetic outdoor and save the leather for indoor. You don't need to account for stretching with synthetic. If they fit at the store, they'll fit forever. Unfortunately once they start to tear, they are toast and they don't last as long as leather. Leather weighs a ton when it gets wet and doesn't shrink back to original size as it dries. Leather is fine in the summer but not for the other 9 months a year here in the NW.

I've started ordering shoes at zappos. Order as many as you want, free shipping, send back the ones that don't fit (again free shipping) and keep the ones you want.
