Quite the drive into work this morning!

Took an hour and a half to get from South Bellevue to South Lake Union.

What is up with people just leaving thier cars in the middle of I-90? $:-\$

Enough to close the schools AGAIN! Thank goodness 410 and 167 were clear.. not too many drivers on the road either...

Tacoma Schools are only 2 hours late. However.... the Tacoma schools over here in Browns Point are getting a bunch of snow and its like a damn blizzard right now. I have a ticked off kid. She wants a REAL snow day. I have a hill to get down to get her to school and there is no bus so not sure how this will work. DH has our truck at work and Im not taking my pretty little car out in this. NO WAY. So I told DD we could walk. Her eyes flew open wide. She wears a uniform to school and would freeze her butt off. I think I will be mom of the year (in her eyes) and give her that snow day.

Be safe everybody. Im going sledding with my daughter.

Snowing in Cowtown.

People do that in Portland/Vancouver too. The car starts to slide and people just get out and leave their car in the middle of the highway. I have never seen it anywhere else I have lived. Last year during a snow storm we were coming home from a mall and it was like a slalom course on the highway with cars instead of poles!

By the way Yote, there is now snow dancing going on at my house, as school has just been canceled for the third day in a row!

Couple miles east of Redmond with 6"+ on the ground since 5 AM and still coming down heavy at 9:00 AM. Seems we're right in the path of the moisture this morning.

OK that was fun....Up and into the car at 4:00AM. Drove from my house with snow and roads covered, into downtown Kent where it was clear. Clear roads through Seattle to Alderwood Mall where snow was sticking to the road and got worse as I got into Mukilteo. Did my work and then drove back to Seattle in constant flakes. Seattle, around West Seattle bridge was the worse. Made it to work in Georgetown and will hunker down for a couple of hours and then head for the hills early today. 85 miles and only saw four wrecks.

So now DD decides to go to school. Even though I offered her a snow day.
Big Brother said he would drive her since his car USUALLY goes well in the snow.
They leave the house and head out... hit the first hill......start sliding down it and spin out. End up backwards against the curb. DD was NOT happy. They call me, I come to help. Cheersme95keeps DH drives by and helps us out!!! Yah. DD gets to school and we get home... and the kids now have a story to tell.
Tacoma SD screwed up! The roads are a mess. Today should have been the snow day and yesterday should have had school!!

On another note... please say a prayer for my cousin Lori in Sacramento whom I recently found out she is in a coma and the Dr.s are not sure whats going on and if shes even going to make it. She has 4 young kids. And then for my Aunt Lorraine who is in the hospital in Burbank. Dr's. think she had a heart attack lastnight. She was on a business trip for her medical supply company ON THE SET OF ER SITTING BETWEEN JOHN STAMOS AND WILLIAM H. MACY.... when the pain started. These 2 women are very close to me and I want them both home and healthy for Christmas.

After 3 "2 hour late starts" this week, Kent closed schools today. Kinda glad they did because the snow is really coming down now (as it has most of the day).

The neighborhood kids are lovin' it!! I've been watching them try to ride their sleds down the hill and into our cul-de-sac. If they keep the sled in control and can make that right turn...its a hell of a 2 block sled ride...all downhill!! Who needs the passes!!

Our schools are STILL open... its snowing like crazy!!! When we finally got Alli to school today... I actually saw kids in shorts. They will regret that decision when they have to walk home at 2:45.

Yes, but very lightly. DH said its been snowing for over an hour and the roads are terrible at least up here at the top of the hill ( Sumner/Lake Tapps side)

After my last post, I looked outside and saw one of the neighborhood kids on his cell phone. The next thing I know there are kids EVERYWHERE throwing snowballs...including our front yard!!!

I have no idea where all these kids came from!! He must have called two friends and so on, and so on. Snow still coming down and its starting to get dark, but there are still about 20 kids (big and small) out there.

After paying more attention, I noticed a few others building a snow jump right in the middle of the cul-de-sac!!

One of the neighbors moved his car so now the kids can turn the corner with ease!! The smiles on their faces as they slide past our house and into the neighbors driveway tells me they don't even notice their rosey cheeks and runny noses!!

Ah shucks...the grass and flowers will grow back...I hope. They're so cute!!
