Get Ready for the Wolves in 2009!

2009 will prove to be the most exciting year in Seattle Wolves history. With more talent within the player pool than ever before, the Wolves will be competing in over 115 matches in 2009.

Competitions include the Pacific Coast Soccer League Premier Division (May-July), US Lamar Hunt Open Cup Qualifying (May), USASA Nationals Qualifying (May), professional and collegiate friendly matches, as well as qualifying attempts for the Sheila Anderson Memorial Challenge Cup (July) and JF Kennedy Cup (August).

The <a href="http://www.pcsl.org" target="_blank"> Pacific Coast Soccer League (PCSL) offers Summer semi-professional playing opportunities in men's and women's Premier and Reserve divisions for talented players from Canada and the United States of America who are interested in a high level of competition and the opportunity to travel the Pacific Northwest for league matches and tournaments during the Summer. The PCSL is recognized by the Canadian Soccer Association (CSA) as a Division III Professional League after the United Soccer Leagues (USL) Division One for Men and the W-League for Women, and Major League Soccer (MLS). The PCSL features 10 Premier Men’s teams. In 2008, the Seattle Wolves FC finished in 3rd place within the PCSL Premier division, and reached the final of the PCSL Sheila Anderson Memorial Challenge Cup, before falling to the defending league and Challenge Cup champions, Victoria United.

The Wolves preparation for 2009 competition has already begun. The club resumed training on Monday January 5th after a short Winter break. With a full friendly schedule, including some of the best universities in Seattle, and a trip to the East Coast to play the Harrisburg City Islanders and Crystal Palace Baltimore, of the USL Second Division, the Wolves will have plenty of opportunities to take a look at players in preparation for this Summer’s busy campaign.

Stay tuned to <a href="http://www.seattlewolvesfc.org" target="_blank"> SeattleWolvesFC.com for the announcement of the Seattle Wolves Spring/Summer schedule, ticket information, and match recaps. Wolves’ veterans, Matt Hulen, Thiago Silva, Ian Walsh and Ryan Oxford headline a core group welcoming a class of new players that will add to the Wolves exciting style of attacking play.
