Best Uniforms for Club team?
« on: September 16, 2005, 11:21:02 AM »

Just curious who players or parents think have the best uniforms?

Right now I'd have to say NW Nationals or possibly the new version of Emerald City.

Favorite colors aside, IMHO what makes a good uniform is one that is easily recognizable in peripheral vision from one's opponents jerseys.

Most solid colors are fine choices. Multi colors also work when they are near each other (like the Seahawk blue green uniform). That said, some colors look out of place on the pitch, such as yellow.  Perhaps if there were a local pro or college team with an outdoor sport that had yellow uniforms, this might be different.

I'm not a fan of uniforms with mixed bold opposing colors as this may cause occasional confusion, momentary hesitations and misplays on the field when opponents have something vaguely like one of the colors.  Snohomish and Black Hills black and white Puma uniforms are an example of this.  While attractive colorwise, in play head on they are white, from the side they are black. which is easily confused with anything dark in peripheral vision (which is largely black and white).

While an attracive uniform and color, EC Green's new blue uniforms is a curious color choice.  Perhaps they ought to change names to EC Blue?

As a final comment, optimal uniform colors and choices may also be influenced by what's commonly available for peripheral items, (socks, underarmor, gear bags), etc.  The common colors seen in most stores for peripherals seem to be black, white, blue and dark (navy) blue, and sometimes red.   Purple, Yellow and green seem less prevelant.  [/list]

I didnt think I would like the FCA's new yellow and navy blue, but it definitly looks good on the younger players. I Like Bothell Highs Blue colors. love blue. NWN I like they way they can trade and wear red white and blue from top to bottem. Pretty cool!

Hmmm... Redmonds High's all yellow is way to much( especially on guys teams. ewww!)

I saw a french pro team in lilac. Light purple. to funny, it looked good on the darker skined men, but the lighter skined men looked pretty washed out. heheheheh is that funny or what. The fashion capitol of the worlk and they have a team in light purple.

   :D

Crossfires with the speed #'s when they went to ZHong Kong were cool. NWN's are pretty cool, and Snoho's looks. The FWU's green jerseys, i don't like because they are uncomfortable, and they have way too much design on them. The FWU's white are very plane but are way comfortable, and look kinda good.
