Still two groups waiting to hear on pool. G '95 and B '94.
Whats the deal on the waiting game?
Website shows Jan/Feb training schedule is still in works. We are already coming to the end of Jan and nothing is listed.

They were very careful not to tell the G-96's a firm date. They left it open to a number of weeks until the next session location was secured.

Website took off Jan/Feb training that was still suppose to be on hold.
G '95's stated there may be a possible one more try out in Feb. But nothing is on website showing.
Not sure about the G 96's.
But the B '94's were not told on field about another possible try out in Feb, so not sure what the hold up is on this one.

No e-mail, nothing updated on website, no trainings listed...

Co-worker emailed them asking for some clarification so that people can plan their lives.....response "We don't know yet and will post it on the web site when we do"! Now that's customer service if I ever saw it

I finally couldn't sit and wait no longer and called last week on this. I got "don't know when".
Not that I am feaking out wondering, just would like to plan "if" kid made it or not.
You know when they post it training will be the week of!

I had sent an email to the ODPadmin email listed on the website and didn't hear back, but I sent a message to Dave Schumacher today and he called me back in less then an hour. He said the staff is working on the evaluations for many age groups and hopes to have the emails sent out after Wednesday evening. He couldn't have been more helpful and explained that many of the coaches were with the ODP teams in AZ and just haven't had time to get things finished. If they had posted a message on the ODP site they may have saved themselves a few calls.

ODP told the returning player's parents at the December training that they were sorry for the last delay and would make an improvement to the long notification period. Oh yeah?? Come on ODP. Plans need to be made!

Bumble Bee -- THANKS for going one step further and posting the reply. Not to nit-pick this to death, but those coaches that went to Phoenix are seriously the same coaches that do these age groups?

? I know many of the coaching staff are a part of the other age groups for evaluations, but for coaching too? They can spend time with other teams that went to Phoenix, but not have enough time to pick the pool before hand so that these kids didn't have to miss out on this trip?
Phoenix was a few weeks ago. This was only a four day trip. What about the weeks before Phoenix, and the weeks now after -- what are we all waiting for?

It would have been more appreciated if something was on the website or an e-mail stating as much.
It almost appears that there is a reason why there is a hold up than simply just a few coaches getting together and figuring out who they want, and getting evaluations written up. It should not take this long.

Thankfully, at the meeting, Dave had said that the Feb session would NOT be Presidents weekend so I am holding him to that and booked my CA vacation for the long weekend! Oh will I be upset if that changes, but guess it WON'T be SuperBowl Sunday (since today is Friday prior) so that leaves 2/7-2/8 and 2/21-2/22............. really? 2/21 and 2/22??

Oh please let us get this info out by this weekend and go for the early Feb weekend!!!!

I agree this makes no sense to have this delay in notification stretching into Feb.. I would have preferred a yes or no within a few days of the try out instead of long evaluation a month later. The problem now is going to be conflicts as most teams have rescheduled games on Sundays throughout Feb to accomadate the holiday. I feel bad for the girls who are waiting to hear yes or no. Hopefully something soon.

First let me say that I know the schedualing issue with Starfire and the 2 storms are no fault of ODP. My DD now thinks that we are so far into the ODP season that they are not going to make many if any changes. She hopes she is wrong though

We're hoping it's not the weekend of Feb 13-16th because ECFC 95 Green will be in Arizona for a tounament. They said it would not be over that holiday weekend, so hopefully that will hold true. I think we have 5 or 6 girls still in the 96 pool. Keep up the great work girls!!!

Did the other boy make the team? If he did possibly bad news for your son, if he was rejected possibly good news. That's how I would interpret that. My son hasn't heard anything either nor his team mate. Nothing like trying not be worried, lol

That's great that they give the training to be posted but I hope they send out emails today telling the kids if they are to come back or not for that next session.

My DS has not heard anything, and two other boys we know have not heard as of yet either.

We are in the final selection process of formalizing the 2008-2009 Washington Youth Soccer ODP player pool. We will be posting the training schedule no later than tomorrow evening. Please check you age group page for date, time, and location.

Please remember to wear your ODP numbered shirt; bring a water bottle and ball; and remember to check in at the sign in booth. If you are a new player, please check in and we will provide you with your ODP tryout shirt; however, you are responsible for bring a water ball and ball. This will be the final opportunity to tryout for the 2008-2009 ODP team.
