i know the question was asked today about regional camp for those who end up on the actual odp teams, and according to the region iv website, the 94 and 95 girls will start on monday june 29 ending on July 4.  these are now going to be in moscow idaho, so a little easier travel.  the 95 girls are continuing to train with no additional cuts to the training group and the coach and assistants will decide on a team after more training in march.  they are also going to have an opportunity to have a scrimmage with the oregon odp.  not sure if oregon has chosen their teams or they  are bringing their pool.  it has been fun for my dd and still at a cost of only $35.00.  this is a lot of great training ( I think they've had 5 or 6 sessions) and playing with very good kids for a small investment.

Has this been scheduled between Oregon 95 and Wash 95 or are you talking about the Nike Friendship Cup?

We adults realize some of the flaws in the ODP program. I can only say that from my DD's perception, this is a great opportunity for her and she really wants to experience it firsthand. I don't know if it is the glamour, the chance to compete at a higher level than her team currently competes at or the fact that she's from a small new club on the Eastside of the mountains where this would be a big deal (maybe all of the above).
As a parent, I do know that this is important to her and therefore is to me

GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF THE ODP PARTICIPANTS

T.N.T. ..... that post was DYN-A-MITE!!!  Here's something for ya....

TNT's daughter will be back in town
So don't you mess around
'Cause she's daughter of T.N.T.
she's dynamite
daughter of T.N.T
And she'll win that fight
daughter of T.N.T
she's a power load
daugher of T.N.T
Just watch her explode!!!!!

Best of luck to your DD....

DD just saw this and even played the song and sang this version
She loved it O0

Too cool...lol....glad she like it.  8)

In the letter we just got for the '96 ODP Girls, the third weekend of March is billed as a "workout" with Washington ODP in Seattle. No times or details released to us yet.

At the 95 parent meeting Dave Schumacher said 3/21-3/22 would have 95 and 96 Oregon ODP up here and be scrimmaging those 2 days at Starfire.  They'd be able to see what dates kids are available due to their PDL games and some kids will be at the Man U event.  Also mentioned 3/21 meeting for families 630pm at a local HS but that info is TBA.

He'd told the group that some evaluations / cuts could go out this week but that sometime this week we should be able to check the WSYSA ODP site for the kids names to be posted for making it to the next round.
The kids might have heard it as no cuts as the coaches said "see you in March", but I will still wait to see my dk's name posted before getting too excited, just because of how Dave presented it at the 95 meeting.

Friendship is the one that will be in May, Memorial Weekend - Dave S. did say "friendlies" w/ Ore & Wash 3/21-3/22 weekend.

Thanks for confirming the dates - that's what I'd seen too - and then to hear Idaho vs Calif - that will be nice if it comes true for dd :)

the man u cup is the weekend of the memorial odp tournament in portland.  another reason they may be keeping the pool larger since wash  has two club teams going to the man u cup and those players wouldn't be available for the odp memorial weekend tournament.  the march scrimmages are just conflicted with pdl therefore two days of play for the pool, whoever is available on a given day.

ODP
Monday, January 26, 2009, 1:18:05 AM | fullridesoon@gmail.com (FullRideSoon)
My son got cut from ODP this afternoon. How much longer must we put up with the political BS that this program represents? I saw the head “coach” (if you can call him that) talking to the DOC of one the so-called big clubs in Michigan and then ten minutes later 2 kids from that club are announced as being on the team!! It’s so obvious that this club was favored above ours. The coach spent the whole time trying to look like he was watching every move when we could all see that he didn’t care. One parent told me the team was already selected before our check was even cashed. Which brings up another thing – all these guys are interested in is the money. Every time he spoke to my boy it was obviously all about whether he had paid or not. $200 for 10 minutes of “coaching” and two hours of scrimmages??? Please! I don’t know why we even tried out. ODP is dead now that the academy is in place and as soon as there are another six or seven academy clubs in Michigan my son’s true genius will be recognized. ODP is for losers!

It was all so different on the girl’s side. Even though the head coach of our year group coaches for the club that my daughter plays for you could tell that he was giving every girl a fair chance to show what she could do. The fact that 13 of the 18 girls chosen came from his club is a complete coincidence. Even when he was on his cell phone for that half hour with his back to the field you could tell that he was listening to every single thing that was going on. ODP is such a wonderful program and I don’t know why some idiots are talking about an academy approach for the girls. An academy is way too expensive and you get such good value from ODP. My daughter had an in-depth 10 minute tutorial and then was given a chance to showcase her new found skills in a highly charged, competitive environment commonly called a scrimmage. I’m so proud that my daughter has been selected to represent Michigan in the latest in a long line of excellent decisions by the staff of our fine ODP program.
