Dragon I'm in Disappointment with Obama
« on: January 24, 2009, 03:20:45 AM »

Ok I voted for him.  I  believed in him, but Obama is already

questioning my loyalty. Obama is not my idea of  change

In a visit to the State Department Thursday, President Obama made his first substantive comments on the

Middle East conflict since Israel’s attack on Gaza. Obama first mentioned his commitment to Israel’s

security, without affirming his commitment to Palestinian security. He condemned Palestinian rocket

attacks on southern Israeli towns, but didn’t criticize the US-backed Israeli bombings of densely populated

Gaza.

Obama is unwilling to create peace in the middle east

He is still backing Israel instead of stating the US needs to back the

the full Arab League peace plan. He is asking for more hatred of the US

by Palestine. If Obama doesn't want Palestine to treat the US as a foe,

he needs to establish neutrality. I'm not pro Palestine. I just don't

want another 9-11 because our President likes one country more

than another. The US doesn't need to be allies with

bullies.   This is not a good start Dragon.

I'm saddened. 4 more years of little change IMO.

OMG 3 days in office.  Give me a break.  Let's at least wait 100 days and then comment.

Lets give it a little time.

It doesn't matter who is President, they will do some things you like and some you don't like.
You just have to HOPE there is more good change then bad change.  Change is what we asked for, change is what we get.

Yes - whether we voted or not for President Obama he does deserve time to settle in and determine his path.  I would want that for any President - Republican or Democrat.  There are so many enormous issues that need resolution or the start of a resolution during the next four years that only time will tell.  President Obama has one thing that President Bush didn't and that is his popularity.  But I believe it will be many years after his presidency ends before history can really determine his long-term accomplishments.  Unfortunately, being a society that demands immediate gratification we don't always want to look at it this way.

Three days in -or 100 days in- Obama's ideas have been set in motion-he has spoken

and unless you want a wishy washy president- a president who sends mixed messages-

Obama has chosen his middle east agenda-he has  already taken sides -and I'm

not waiting 1 day because Bush f$%%^ed everything up and urgency is a priority

in my opinion

Well Apple, we will agree to disagree then.  You can't please everyone and surely you are titled to your opinion.  All I'm trying to say is lets give him a chance.  In the long haul he will make 1000's of decisions and I'm also sure that we all won't agree with all of them.  But to say you are dissapointed already less then a week into his presidency is somewhat harsh.

So Hamas lobs missle after missle into Israel from Gaza.  These missles are unguided and land at undertermined locations, schools, markets, apartments.  Israel puts up with attack after attack and finally responds with decisvie action to remove a cancer that most of the non-jews in Gaza would like to see removed and Israel is the bully?

You don't participate in a peace process by saying the only there will be peace is if Israel is wipped off the earth.
