The team in Europe that is looking really good right now is BARCELONA.    They play with such fluid grace and skill, it is truely poetry in motion.    Truely an extroardinary team this year.

Adams Fired from Portsmouth
« Reply #31 on: February 09, 2009, 08:34:20 AM »

Portsmouth manager Tony Adams has been fired after winning only two of the 16 Premier League matches since he took over on 28 October.

First-team coach John Metgod has also left the club. The 42-year-old Adams took over when Harry Redknapp departed for Tottenham late last year. Portsmouth lost 2-3 at home to Liverpool on Saturday despite leading with just five minutes to go. It seems that those five minutes cost Adams his job.

Phil Scolari has been Sacked by Chelsea!!!!! sort of trumps Tony Adams

"Luiz Felipe Scolari has been dismissed as manager of Chelsea Football Club today (Monday) with immediate effect."
Chelsea FC Website

West Ham's Zola is the immediate thought on a replacement.

Great Job PA:

I reckon the first U.S. Based Website to get the Story Out in detail.  Faster than ESPN, ITV, and BBC.

Cheers,

Please dont take our Zola !!!
Zola has stated publicly that he will not leave Upton park , as WHUFC was the only club willing to give him backing as a manager. I sure hope he means it, he has the hammers in good form, playing well, without a lot of big names.
They played very well against Manyoo on Saturday, had a good game plan and stuck to it.
If it had'nt been been for that old welsh guy, we could have come away with a point !!

SounderFan,
Great points on Arsenal.  I think they'll sort this out and build from this year with all the young talent they are developing. (Wilshere, Vela, Walcott)
And what a return for Eduardo in the FA game today.  After that horrible leg break exactly 358 days ago. (tib/fib compound break + ankle dislocation) Eduardo stormed onto the pitch and within 20 minutes placed a beautiful ball on net.  (Eventually Two)  It was an emotional "I'mmmm Baacckk!!"    Ya, Arsenal has stumbled a bit this year but I have hopes for what must be the youngest team in the EPL.
Thanks for the thread.

Barcelona's achilles heel - the defense - has really bitten them in the but right now.  If they do not right their ship immediately, the entire season will be lost...... :'(

Let's home that this loss destroys the confidence that Real madrid has been building up.

:drinks: to Torres, Gerrard and Co.

Can't wait to see who gets whom in the next round.
