Internships are for enrolled college students seeking credit. Internships are unpaid, but intern positions will be compensated with Nike merchandise and tickets to Sounders soccer games at Qwest Field.
Intern positions require 8-10 hours per week, including game days (April - September)

Game Day Operations
Duties: Assist Operations Director with game day operations, field set-up, locker room preparation, game day execution and efficiency, serve as team liaisons for each team, make sure merchandisers are open and ready for business prior to opening of gates and assist with game day promotions. Must be available nights and weekends for home games at Qwest Field.

Coaching
Duties: Assist head coach with communication and administration duties. Assist with the organization of team activities and attend occasional training sessions. Assist head coach on game days and serve as the home team liaison. Help coaches with other responsibilities deemed necessary by head coach. Must be available evenings and weekends for home matches at Qwest Field.

Media / Public Relations
Duties: Responsible for writing weekly press releases for organization and game summaries for all home games at Qwest Field. Assist with maintenance of Sounders official website (http://www.seattlesounders.net/) including update team roster, log statistics and post news releases / game stories. Assist with coordination of special projects throughout the season including the 2006 Sounders Media Guide and the 4th Annual Kids Day at Qwest Field. On game days assist press box director with game statistics, write game reports and summaries, assist media members in attendance and other media / public relations related tasks. Must be available nights and weekends for home matches at Qwest Field.
Must have knowledge of soccer and possess excellent writing skills.

Mascot
Duties: Become Sammy the Sounder! Make appearances with the Sounders Community Partner Program and other team / player appearances. Attend home matches at Qwest Field and assist with game day operations, i.e. visiting groups and birthday parties in attendance, exciting the crowd. High energy is a must. Must be available nights and weekends for appearances and home games at Qwest Field.

Sales / Marketing - Sponsorships
Duties: Assist Senior Account Executive in various group sales (fan relations) and marketing projects. Help coordinate 500 plus people Club Nights and develop marketing materials for groups and group nights. Assist in game day preparation by writing the game script for PA announcer incorporating PA and special announcements as well as information about sponsored contests. Oversee sponsorship fulfillment, make sure sponsoring companies receive agreed upon services, collateral and programs. On game days facilitate half-time contests and activities, assist with game contests and help develop and maintain fan relations by assisting at the Fan Information Booth. Must be available nights and weekends for home matches at Qwest Field.

Community Relation Intern (Four Positions)
Help develop the Sounders new Community Partner Program!
Duties: Actively promote Sounders Soccer to people in the greater Seattle area through appearances at different events and locations in the Seattle area with Director of Community Relations. Help set up Sounders Soccer Skills Booth and facilitate the skills competitions, aid in the development of marketing materials for events and Sounders appearances. Must be flexible and have a love of soccer. Must possess excellent people skills, be organized, and have access to reliable transportation. On game days assist with game operations, sponsor contests and half-time activities. Must be available weekends and evenings for appearances and home matches at Qwest Field.

Account Executive Intern
An introduction to sports ticket sales. Use current Sounders contacts and seek new contacts to sell the following Sounders ticket types: Season tickets, Group tickets, Kids Day tickets, Club tickets and Special International / National Team game sales. Assist in the development of marketing strategies to promote Sounders soccer to the soccer community through selling group nights, corporate tickets, soccer club nights, etc. Must be passionate about soccer, possess strong people skills and the desire to sell. Required to work in the front office three days a week for a minimum of 12 hours total. Compensation will be in the form of commission plus Nike merchandise and Sounders tickets.

Video Production Intern
Duties: Record and produce game tapes for every Sounders home match at Qwest Field. Record each game to VHS and produce three copies of each game tape for coaches, referees and Sounders front office. The possession of recording equipment is recommended but not required. Must be available weekends and nights for home games at Qwest Field.

Highlight Production Intern
Duties: Attend Sounders weekly training sessions, record player interviews, coaches interviews, training footage for use on website. Record and produce highlights of Sounders home matches for television media. Responsible for shooting highlights and editing game into a one minute highlight tape to be transferred to a BETA tape and deliver BETA tapes to local television stations to broadcast on evening news. Work and dub tapes in the control room of Qwest Field, a state of the art facility. Record post-game coaches interview, player interviews for use on website. Digital video camera and editing computer is provided. Experience and knowledge of video production and Adobe Premier Software is required. Reliable transportation is required. Must be available weekends and nights for home games at Qwest Field.

Athletic Training intern
Qualifications/duties: Applicant must have athletic training experience at the collegiate level, and currently be pursuing a degree in a related health field. He/she must have good communication skills, a strong work ethic, and be willing to put in long hours. The applicant will be required to assist at all practices, home games, and some exhibition games. Experience in soccer is preferred, but not required. The position begins April 1st.
Compensation: This is an unpaid position. Some clothing will be provided.
