Interesting it has a microchip to detect if it crosses the goal line. :shock:

Interesting but I totally disagree.  IMHO part of sport is the human officials.  I am also against football instant replay and the short lived strike zone thing they used.

IMHO, there's a place for replays in football.  After a shaky start, they seem to get it right more often than not, with occasional exceptions.

As I understand it, they still use electronics capable of strike detection in MLB.  However, it's used as an evaluation tool for umps after the game, not during the game.  

I've also seen enough missed goals in soccer that a properly implemented electronic device might fix.  I agree, electronics sound a bit funky, but probably better than assigning a goal ref or leaving things as they are.  Especially given the impact some missed goals have had on top world class games.
