Actually the Crossfire James team also lost Davis Smith and Justin Minuk to the Crossfire Hattrup team.

How did Xfire A "lose" two players?  Looks to me like they weren't taken on the A team and relagated to the B team.  Looks like a good gain for the B team, who BTW tied the heat 1-1.  Heat only scored in the last 5 minutes of the game.  Long season, so far looks less predictable then the past. :)

Actually I think Davis chose to move down. I may be wrong though. :)

Actually I think you are right Squash.  So I stand by the earlier statement that the A -Team lost Davis and Minuk.  Actually, it was a very mature decision by both players.  You get better by playing, and a new coach can sometimes be a good thing.  Both are solid contributors from the game I saw last week.  I also think that the last years B-Team has kids now playing on the Crossfire C-Team coached by Jimmy Gabriel that is doing so well in P3.

Crossfire beat Spokane right? Crossfire James? or did I mess up and it 's Crossfire Hattrup that played Spokane. Hattrup is doing pretty good in the P1 zone. Several ties is much better then losses. Hmmm... wonder if they will crack the top four this year!  could happen! :D

Chelsea kid hope you heal quickly so that you can play. good luck to the snoho guys tommorrow. Watch out for #7 of the Rainiers.  Pressure the defense and you will get a good chance to score on them. Keeper is good though, not a push over. Stopped a good penalty kick against Eastside. Have fun and hope to see you out there soon. Want to play you guys full strength next time we play!

I saw this game and loved the hard work from the FW Storm players.  I would tend to disagree that the goals were soft.   When a ball rockets off the crossbars and players crash and tuck away the rebound - I don;t think that is soft or lucky.  I thought your keeper made 2-3 great saves!  Keep plugging away FWS and you will have success.

After a few roster shuffles Sparta has settled into some very good soccer. The only close game, the tie with Rainiers, could have been 3-1 Sparta with 2 point blank shots muffed. They are playing the English style passing game and this opens up defenses. Occasionally they will play a 'vertical'/Route 1 ball that will score a goal. They recently handed ESA a convincing 3-1 loss, with their garbage goal coming in the end. Could have been 6-0 but 1 on 1 with keeper opportunities were unsuccessful. We'll see if Sparta can keep the mental edge and get to P1.

They were arguably in the top 5 in the state at U-14/LPT's but had to get by Crossfire and Vancouver  (a strong team at the time)to be P1. Many kids have moved to FC United the past couple years but Sparta has maintained a top ten status, pushing again  for top 5, in the state.

This game was very well played by both teams.  Don't know why FW is doing so poorly.  They really marked up on the outside mids well, which is where Crossfire tends to create most havoc and showed good speed.  The goals scored by Crossfire were the result of constant pressure the 2nd half, with a number of shots hitting the goal posts before going in.  Keep your heads up FW, you are long overdue.

Federal Way plays a good game they should get back in in it soon.

Sparta, do you have the same keeper? I remember scrimmaging with you all and he was a big guy, had a few mis ques. but other then that he was  agood keeper. Maybe the Sparta team is coming together at the right time!

The biggest difference in P2 seems to be shooting. Take advantage of opportunities when they happen and not giving up. Not rush it just work it in and shoot again. Although the Crossbar seems to have a lot of balls hitting it for at least three or four teams I have seen the past few weeks. Yikes.

Sparta has had the same two keepers the last 3 years. They have both been pretty decent with respective strengths and weaknesses.
The team has been training 3x/week and this probably has helped...they have never done 3x/week during the season. More touches, more set play practice, etc..
If they keep their mental edge and concentration they will be in P1 next year. They also had a pretty good summer tournament season.

he's good. Sparta plays a nicer passing game than the typical English style. they play on the ground very well. fast forwards too. they'll have no trouble with any team but Rainiers for the rest of the season methinks.

If Sparta beat Evergreen, they can beat Rainiers. Rainiers are persistant and a decent team but I felt that Evergreen was a better "team" then Rainiers. Rainers can fool you thought so watch out.

INteresting teams in P2 I bet there will be some "upsets " in the near future.  The teams are so similiar One week a team is strong, the next they struggle.

the only difference between sparta and raineers is that when and if they do both go to p1 next year, raineers will do alot better in p1 then sparta will. Sparta is way to over rated really, they are good, but raineers are definitely better

I havent seen Sparta this fall yet, but I felt the Rainers were beatable. ALthough when Eastside played them they were missing a red carded player so maybe that evened it up when we played them.  I will hold back on my opinions on Sparta unitl I see them again. Knowing that Fall league is sooooo different then scrimmages or even summer tournament play. ( no duh huh hehhehe).

Evergreen suprises me that they are not just whooping up on everyone?. They had very good forwards and defense too, when we saw them last? hmmm....  Like I said in an earlier post, it just depends week by week who is going to show up and play..

Yeah, I'm surprised also.  Saw their team win the Evergreen Tournament.  They have size and speed up front and on defense.   I still think they will move up next year to P1.

I am surprised too that Eastside is struggling so much. Mostly shooting is there problem, they hit everything but the net. Defense is good, different formation then most teams use. Forwards are very fast, Midfield is gelling. outside seems strong and work well as a unit.  Keeper is strong( goals against are low). ( I am biased here of course   )

When I watched Rainiers, they seemed to struggle with foot skills. First touch was week, very unlike what I had seen before in them, I think it may have been the turf surface more then anything.

Snohomish seemed to work well as a team in spurts, then they would get a goal scored no them and they would dismantle as a team., to later start to pick it up again. They have a good keeper and now an additional keeper that is said to be strong. We shall see how they do the rest of the season with new legs and when injured players get back in and solidify the middle for them. ( Hey chelsea kid :O)  )

Revolution seems good but not a lot of speed, some crucial keeper errors at times. Yet still a decent keeper and team. Will struggle to stay in P2, just because it is to new to them. Whereas Rainers seem to get better with the competition, Revolution seems a bit overwelmed by the competiition and the physical play of P2

Three Rivers is  a very direct team, with some speed some skill but mostly a bunch of individuals running around the field. Very physical too, in a good way. Not as much team work. I saw them in their  first game of the season though so maybe they were a bit rusty. Big guy in sweeper does a decent job. Keeper was a bit inexperienced in my opinion but worked hard

Havent seen Sparta yet.

Whatcom surprised me too. They were a lot better team then earlier. They take opportunity and score on it. Beautifull upper V free kick. Even if the Eastside keeper got a hand on it, it was still a beautifull shot.  The second shot was kind of strange. Off of a corner kick that should have been a goal kick. Both teams seemed confused that the referee called Corner kick. But Whatcom capitalized on it.  They have some speed, some pretty small players but they play big! Well coached ( WWU Coach yeah WWU woot woot)

Just my observations so far.....
