Is Soccer Standings Plus gone? Haven't been able to bring it up the last two days.

They posted a note last week about switchings hosts.  

However, IMHO, for those who paid the bucks to advertise at SP, it seems a critical couple days lost.

yeah, one would have expected far more eyeballs looking at the site this past weekend than the previous 2.  Next weekend is critical as well.

The SP folks are providing a great example of why webmasters who know what they are doing have a (near) mirror site going at a new host  before they start switching things around.  This way the switch can be almost seamless instead of a couple days of dead cyberspace.

Most major host can make a seemless transition for you. I'm actually shocked it's not back up, unless they are having issues with their data bases for standings and so forth.

I'm sure they will be back up  

next season, I will be doing standings of some sort  :shock: I just have about 400 pages of php to read  :lol:

First post on this forum, maybe the last; who knows.  The biggest difference between this forum and SSP and GS is that this one (WPS) has a definite club bias.  SSP is attended by people from all clubs and locations...  GS is weighted to the GU16 age, but can be amusing and informative on other subjects as well.  I don't even have this site bookmarked.  I only check it when desperate (like now with ssp down).  Most posts and topics are snoozers, to downright xfire promotions.  Give me a break.  Squash....  don't kid yourself.  You do not have a site that treats all clubs without bias.  Even your compliments to other teams/clubs sound backhanded and shallow (i.e. your congrats to ECFC BU17).  That is why this forum will never eclipse the poorly run, bad formatted, SSP.  At least the posters there are real.  What you have here is a bunch of characters vying to show how clever they can be: funny pictures, cute icons, etc...  Anyone not in your little circle doesn't get it and doesn't want to.

Hey that's how you feel that's fine. I actually thought the ECity U-16's outplayed the Crossfire U-16's. I also thought the CF U-17's should have beat the ECity U-17's. Those 2 games had exactly the opposite results, it's called soccer.

DayZ, the best part is probably 95% of the posters on this site are from clubs other than Crossfire, so this being a Crossfire site is just not true.

The difference between this site and the others, pure and simple. People on here play for different teams and have met and supported each others teams at games.

One other thing to remember about me.....I know all when it comes to this site, like your second identity. I don't mind you bashing me, but come on a second identity to do it.  :mrgreen:  Clever, but you need to get up earlier in the morning to fool me.  I'll preserve your other identity, because it's fair to you and no ones business. But I love people like you posting, because you "make it real" with your opinion.  Don't know about everyone else, but I like to hear other peoples opinion as well.

I personaly dont think this is a site biased to Crossfire.

I like that there are places for the Crazy parents, like all those U11 people who think there kid is the next Mia Hamm... ok ok.. maybe they are. hahahha. But its a place I only occasionly visit yet it is available for anyone to visit. There are several places to visit that I am interested in.  

I like the format here better the SP. But, I like how SP has the score keeping area. Washington state site has improved this area too, I think due to all the folks crying out for scores and results.

Got soccer is pretty Gu16 dominated and offers some variety. I get tired of all the fighting over there though. soooo... There are options for all folks, I personaly like it here. IT keeps me from getting stuck in my own little GU  or Bu world.

The thing for everyone to remember too, is I accept articles or stories about any club. It's a choice who sends things in. If DayZ wants to read more about his or her club, then submit an article it's that easy and that unbiased. It's pretty simple really.  :mrgreen:

I'm not sure what their rates were for advertising but they must of had at least 20 clubs with banners on there and that's some serious mulla.   And I'm sure there's going to be more than a few clubs a little ticked off that they spent all that cash only to get less than what they were expecting.  I'm not sure if emails have gone out from SP to the clubs or contacts on the clubs who set up their advertising but they should consider doing so, if they haven't all ready.  I would also question the timing of switiching servers or whatever they're doing at this point in time when they're on the hook to deliver advertising for paid customers.  Nothing like a little planning before you sink the site for a week....or more!:shock:

If you put up scores and standings on this site, squash, then you'll really put a dent into their business (and if they're charging for banners, then it's a business!).  I go to SP for the scores and to see what the big topic of the week is but other than that, it's a pretty cumbersome and outdated interface to have to deal with day in and day out.  So if you add scores and standings to this site here, then I'd switch in a heartbeat.... :mrgreen:

I personally cannot stand Crossfire.  I do respect what they have accomplished, their players and a few of the coaches.  But, I always hope that they lose against other Washington teams.

Never thought this site was pro-Crossfire.  

I do think that it will gravitate to being pro-Washington Premier Football Club.
I mean, they copied the name (or most of it), maybe they will bribe us all to start being in favor of them?   :mrgreen:

75% seems about as close as SP gets much of the time these days.  

IMHO, with the WSYSA getting better about posting scores in a timely fashion, SPs problems in getting some leagues and cups right (sometimes they are better than the WSYSA), and SPs outdated, overly sensitive, poorly monitored forum format, SPs days (years?) may be numbered.  It's been a great run so far, regardless of what happens...

There is no bias anywhere in this site except for each individual user.  We each bring our own bias to the site and that is it.

Squash does seem to keep it pretty even for all teams.  It just so happens that Crossfire is a club with many teams in the Finals.....that's not his fault nor is it this sites fault.

We talk about what we want to talk about.
