$ 550.00 WYS State League Fee... pays for ?
« on: June 27, 2009, 04:55:38 PM »

$ 550.00 pays for;

Someone takes 5 minutes per age group and inputs a 10 game schedule.

Does NOT pay for;

1.  Any fields
2.  Referee's

The fee's is simply an administration charge to participate.  With the current economics, why the state eliminate LPT's as part of the fee, and shorten the schedule from 12 games to 10 games.

Where does all the money go?

I have a feeling that the PDL clubs are punishing WYS revenue streams, and WYS is in turn financially punishing non-PDL clubs.

or....

WYS really wants all the non-PDL clubs to play district.

my 2 cents....

Assuming that this isn't just some sort of PSPL marketing thing, was the fee always this high? Would the state really set out to "Punish" non-PDL clubs?

The league fee has always been about this amount.   When LPT was aroung that was an extra charge on top of the league fee

A schedule is a schedule.... District puts 12 games schedule with standings for only $200.

Why does WYS charge 3 times more?  Am I missing out on something?

Let a District host and create the schedules/standings. Would lower the costs to $175.00 per team.

My 3 cents....

Part of the league fee covers the WSYS office staff and this fee has always been this high.  The fee that I always thought that probably should have been a $1000 was the LPT fee to prevent teams from entering for a cheap tournament which A LOT of teams were doing about 10 years ago when the fees started going up.

Plus the state has a much more difficult job in coordinating schedules for the 20 or 30 so associations in the state league versus the roughly 7 or 8 the district has to deal with.  Each association puts in a request to have Team A at home when Team B is on the road and vice versa so everyone in the association is not at home on the same date.

That is just part of the entry fee but I hope that helps answer the scheduling portion of your question.

Does the kids insurance come out of this ? Ive been out of the state fees to long BUT some of you pay your clubs for a lot less servass! The state proble needs to revisit there emploee work load and see if they have jobs that are repetitive or worthless! they really need to stream line alot of there paperwork and a state player card is way over do! this could make playing soccer the easyest sport but many of you would bitch about the cost missing the big picture!

Duffer, that is probably a very good question.  The insurance is part of the fee the players pay to their club or association and the association pays that to the state as part of every players registration and it has nothing to do with the State League fees.  I agree with you that the state should probably revisit the work load because a lot of stuff is now automated and is done when we sign our kids up.

However, I do know the office staff was very overwhelmed quite a few years ago but there were not any as many positions in the office then either.

The fees are not that bad.  Lowering the number of games to 10 is.   Let's focus on the lost playing time for our kids rather than the slightly higher cost than the last year or two.
