I just read a short story on someone that had cancer. She was PISSED because everyone wanted to sell ANYTHING with a pink ribbon on it and say its for Breast Cancer.
She said, "Why can't I buy cream cheese without being reminded of it? Do we really need breast cancer breath mints? And why in the name of Susan G Komen do we need a pink stand mixer?" I know damn ribbons help rasie money for research, but it infuriates me that corporate America is exploiting my disease to seel Chicken Soup, vacuum cleaners mascara, T-Shirts, chocolate beach towels --- even wine. Breast cancer wine!
Don't they know alcohol raises breast cancer risk? Whats next, pink ribbon cigarettes?"

If any of you have been bothered by the WPFC October fundraiser, you must not have read Trish Mays story.
She is a survivor herself and started Athena because of it. ALL of her profits go back into research at Fred Hutch.
A local lady doing great things for our local sisters, mothers, aunts and cousins and yes, even dads and brothers.
Can you tell me where most of the profits from the above mentioned items are going? I can tell you... right back into the company coffers with a SMALL PERCENTAGE of sales going to research!
Keep it up WPFC! Your efforts in helping this cause is commendable.
