U10 - 4 six-a-side teams; also, a separate Academy training program, no formal teams, not competing/ overlapping with association rec programs

Does the last part mean that the U10 Academy Training Program cannot compete with nor overlap the Associations rec program?

For the Spokane area that would mean that the U10 Academy Program would have to be a winter or summer program since our recreational play Fall (Sept - Oct) and Spring (Late Mar - May)

No matter how it is interpreted, this should be recognized as a huge step backwards for our children. With fewer U10 spots available, and the only playing opportunity being 6 v 6, we are drifting back to the bad old days when access to quality soccer was rationed and effort was only expended on those the politicians deemed “worthy”. Instead of playing on U10 teams at age, the good kids are now forced to try out for U11 teams, which might be ok for development but is far less fun.  I suspect that renegade clubs will have U10 teams playing in US Club, but this forces the kids to suffer an extra team change.
