OMG, I almost murdered my TV tonight...what is America thinking?  Bottom three, Siobhan, Big Mike and Casey.....Big Mike sent to the couch, safe for another week.  Sadly we say good bye to Siobhan    she will be missed.

I really enjoyed Siobhan...sorry she had to go!  I'm really not a Big Mike or Casey fan...I like them, but am not over the top about them.  I prefer Crystal and/or Lee, personally.

What is the theme for next week? Are we down to 7 now?

I don't necessarily watch this show but more listen to it while doing other things around the house.  When you listen like you would on the radio you get a very different perspective on who is good and who is not.  Her voice is not one I would enjoy on the radio -  a broadway show or live event is better suited for her.

I agree Squash.  There is only gonna be one Idol, and at this point in the game, those who have no shot will be going home based on a single performance.  Also, about Shiobhan's screaming...Mariah Carey went through a phase where ALL her songs seemed to have the high pitched screech in them...she is no Mariah, but maybe it will become her trademark.  Although, it really can get annoying and pedictable.

sissy: I think Casey is REAL good...and will be real succesful.  I see the top three as being Crystal, Lee, and Casey.  Lee and Crystal are almost even in my book...Casey a bit more distant.  I think I like Crystal so much because she is SO DIFFERENT than all the other past Idol winners/runnersup...in look and in voice.

Personally i think Casey is a fantastic guitar player and a good singer.....not great...but good.

It's not that his voice is bad, I just feel like his range is limited compared to crystal or even Lee...when they power a note it definitely feels like a different range, when Casey hits a higher note it's seems to be in the same tone/range.
than his singing.

The best way to truly listen to Idol is from the next room...not watching the tv at all..... music is about the ears first, because a minority of the people ever see artist live.

Can't believe I'm going to actually argue about American Idol BUT...I don't think having a huge range makes you a better singer...of course that's just a matter of opinion but I can recognize, for example, that Celine Dion has an INCREDIBLE voice/gift....but I can only listen to her in short bursts.  For that matter, Adam Lambert and Siobhan Magnus have HUGE ranges too but I would need to be bound and gagged and forced at knife point to sit through one of Adam's songs.

I do agree he is an amazing guitarist but I think you underestimate him vocally.  I would listen to Crystal, Lee and Casey any day (binding and gagging are optional )

This is going to kill me but I gotta tell it like it is...tonight was painful for most.   First of all, I don't understand who keeps voting for Aaron. He is dreadful at best & it is long past his bedtime.  He needs to go night-night!  Second was Casey and although I think he is very cute and talented, I can't even tell you what song he was singing because I left the room to go on the deck and bay at the moon with the dogs    Third was Crystal and I really liked her but the judges were luke warm about her performance.  Fourth was BIG Mike and he did a fine job....but he is just not my kind of lemon drop.  Lastly was Lee and he was just fabulous.  Just gets better and better every week.

Bottom three... Aaron (if there really is a god), Big Mike & Casey  :'( :'( :'(
And I have that sick kind of feeling...like when you've eaten too many sour patch kids...that Casey is going home (but that's only cause people keep voting for Aaron )

Heck...he is only 17.  HUGE future for the kid.  I think Casey or Big Mike are next to go...

sissy...I think the judges "hurt" Idol this season.  They were so negative and so critical in the first few weeks that I think a lot of people just thought that this season's group was not very good.  I have several friends who have this opinion. Personally, I think this season is very diverse talent-wise and the top two (Crystal and Lee) are awesome.  I think better than last season....IMHO.

When I saw the list of song choices a couple days ago  I felt a little sick.  What lame choices!  The only choice for Casey that really fits him is Have You Ever Really Loved a Women by Bryan Adams.  The only good choice for Lee is Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls and the only good choice for Mike is Kiss from a Rose by Seal.  Chrystal is pretty screwed but her best choices are Don't forget about the Moonlight by LeeAnn Rimes or maybe We Don't Need Another Hero by Tina Turner.  As a singer I would be pretty distraught if I had to pick a song off this list for a singing competition although I did sing" (Everything I Do) I Do it For You" by Bryan Adams at a wedding once.

Another tough night last night for the solos.  I thought Lee (Seal's Kiss From a Rose) did fine, but the judges didn't seem to like it much.  Casey (Mrs Robinson) was real shakey and nervous and just didn't have it.  Crystal (I'm all right from CaddyShack) was the best of the night, and is again the clear favorite.  Big Mike (Free Willy theme song) was just OK.

Well...down to the final three!  Looks like they got it right so far.  I liked Big Mike, but I like the others better.  Should be a knock down, drag out on Tuesday.  Did they say how it will be structured/themed next week?
