Have often times read, but first time to post. Question seeking wisdom...First time involved in Challenge Cup and from Eastern Washington. First of all can someone tell me if the divisions are random? Then also when do they merge if they are not two seperate tournaments? One more that should be an interesting one for sake of arguement... Who are the ten best out of the approx. 50 teams... If it is the case that these are indeed two diffrent ranked divisions how is the team chosen that goes to the next level? Girls U11 Girls U11 Div 1

Brackets are random but Div1 is higher than Div2. They don't merge. At older ages, the Cups have different names "Championship" and "Challenger". At this age, they are not allowed to hold a "Championship", hence "Div1" and "Div2".

The biggest surprise I see is FCSC Nemesis being in Div2. Was that by choice?

This is a team that has beat the WSA Pride 2-0, Timbers Red 1-0, and only lost to Crossfire A 2-1. Not only that, they were in the top division of OYSA and won every single game. They only had 1 close game in league (3-2), and all other games were won by 6-12 goals. This team had 82 goals for and 2 against at the end of the season. IF this was as decision the coaches made (to enter the lower Challenge Cup), then they ought to be ashamed of themselves! These girls should be playing in the highest division, as they have proven their talent/skills all year long.

Okay i just got a pm in that this is possible and it IS happening. If so, great job for getting things on track. Hopefully all the teams are placed at an appropriate level when it's all said and done

The state has made a drastic error in placing the FCSC Nemesis Yellow in the 2nd division. I called the coach and he told me they sent formal request to the State, District and Association requesting change, but no one is willing to step up and help. What is the states deal?

do you know how they decided it dr soccer? please share- I'm always curious how they determine this, mixing pdl and non pdl- especially for U11's.
with any luck these girls will get to play a few other teams that got mis-slotted into div 2.

the schedule is set - do you think this team is a sure thing to win div 2?

Agreed. No reason to buy anything from me at this point. However, I do NOT see how you could argue this team should not be in Div 1. Also, the coach has the correspondence with State, District, and Assoc requesting the change so proof exists he did request to be moved to Div 1. Not much more to say other than the state has made a drastic error.

Fairly sure that last year, by playing in OYSA gold, Nemesis 96 had no choice other than to play in the Champ Cup.
It is unfortunate that this rule seems to have changed.
Possibly too many complained that teams were being forced to play in over their heads while for others It was a sure fire way for a team that desires to play at the top level to be placed accordingly

So defensive Doc. Who said anything about having facts??? My whole point was/is that the Nemesis 98 yellow team should be in the Challenge 1 Cup. Is that a fact? No, just my opinion. Didn't know there was a rule against posting ones opinion on here. As a matter of fact, my guess would be that the majority of the stuff CP's post on here are opinions. Do you not agree Doc that the team in question should be playing and competing at the highest level? If you read my post, I stated "IF" the coaches chose to play in the lower cup they ought to be ashamed. As a matter of fact, I believe I gave the girls mad props for doing well all year long, but I guess you forgot to read that part. Here are the U11 PDL Division 1 teams, the order they are in was copied from the PDL spring league standings. NWN and EFC ared tied at the top both with 7 points, but really with 4 games remaining the league is a long way from being decided. Crossfire is right at the top as well.If you were trying to put together a top ten list, this would be a good place to start. Holy Mackrel, take a look at the EFC white team nipping at the heals of the top of the list...Dang that Smitty's got that fire stoked WTH? As Dragon said earlier, cherish this U11 year because this is as good as it gets...

I’ve seen FCSC Nemesis on numerous occasions thru U10 and now U11. Its definitely pretty bogus that they are in Div 2 based on the true quality of the team. They will waltz thru Div 2 and win every game by 2-3 goals on their worst day.

Now on a technical note FCSC is a smaller club and can definitely argue that they can’t compete against the likes of the bigger Premiere teams so Div. 2 is appropriate for them. I disagree because one look at their tournament scores and results against PDL Div 1 or Div 2 teams clearly indicates they should be in Challeng Cup Div 1 and could likely win the whole thing if ther coach had the belief in his team. I could see if they were playing at the 2nd tier level all year long during the tournament season but w/o even looking at all their tournament entries I’ll bet the mortgage they were in a Gold/Platinum Division in each tournament they participated in this past summer. So now all of a sudden why play in Div 2 for thestate tourney???...Hmmmm

I know its ONLY U11 but if the styate is not going to police appropriate tourney entries then why have a Div 1 or 2 in the 1st place???...Kinda defeats the purpose.

The true Div 2 Champ will not be crowned in 2010
