Just to set the record straight. Chance left Mrfc because of the corrupt board. He was sick of trying to made it a premier club and dealing with a board with rec mentality. He is not a club jumper. He was with wpfc for seven years. Steve Cookes best friend/assistant coach had his wife on the board. He was causing drama in the club because he was bitter that his friend and minion Lynden was not asked back to continue his reign as DOC.  So in retaliation he was causing drama in the club and during board meetings. Not promoting team and club unity but slander towards the club and board. Those of you at the board meetings will know exactly what I am talking about. It has all come to light now that the board has fallen apart and they finally got Carrie Wetteland out. But the crazies aren't done yet. Now they are running for the head of MRSA all three of those loonies. Mr. and Mrs. Wetteland and Steve. Yeah! Good luck with that!!

Is this decision going to prompt the DoC to resign?
Odd question.  Why would the DoC resign?  It was the board that relieved him, not the DoC.
Are there club's out there that the DoC have hire/fire responsibility and not just recommendations?
Steve as a coach knows the game. But has questional judgement from what I've observed.
You might want to move on to greener pitches anyway.

I love that I am now inundated with calls about these posts.  Here is another example of an individual who is hiding behind a blog id.  Slanderous comments about respectable individuals are unconscionable.  You don't know what you are speaking about - because if you did, you would use your REAL NAME.  Thankfully this has been printed out.

Im reading the posts and curious as to what everyone thinks now that MRFC has fallen apart. The former treasurer Carrie is going to be investigated for not filing taxes for the club and other money problems. Stwve Cooke quit after several of his girls left his team. All of these people are now being shown in a new light. It seems from the outside looking in that they have been a problem the while time. Alwayssoccermom wrote that she is receiving alot of phone calls. Im curious. Who are you??

@Soccermama01:

alwaysasoccermom posted, in a more detailed thread on this blog, exactly who she is and what her "dog in this fight" is all about.  I'll leave it to you to find the posting, and I am sure others could help, suffice to say if you really want to know who is alwaysasoccermom that information is readily available.

Here's my reason for even jumping on here: I've been watching this blog for days now and, newbie that I am to this site, I am just apalled at the juvenile, destructive, and -I am guessing here- wholly irresponsible posts that I read.  God forbid that any club I was involved with were ever to have their name mentioned here!  For the record, I have no affiliation with MRFC.  I don't think I've ever seen a team of theirs on a pitch, couldn't even tell you what city/neighbourhood they represent.  And I couldn't care less about the outcome of what happens at that club, other than the drama goes really well if you have popcorn to munch on while watching folks self destruct in public.

I am impressed that alwaysasoccermom, when she came on to participate in the soap opera, identified herself clearly.  She's either brave, or foolish, or both...in any case she did not leave any room for you, or anyone else, to question who she is or what is her motivation.  Don't know if I would do that, but then I'm not in the middle of the MRFC story either.  Blogs like this are fun, rumours are fun, soap operas are entertaining - - - but this MRFC thread is an not representative of a community of parents I would want to be around.  So far alwaysasoccermom is the only stand up individual seen in the debate.

eastofthe206,

Generally, discourse around here is far higher than that of national politics, just as a basis of comparison.   Indeed, from the MRFC debate, we readers have been presented with a variety of information, and in sufficient depth to make reasonable conclusions.   That many of the posters have been unreasonable on the subject does not preclude reasonable information from being winnowed out.

Too narrow an acceptance of avenues of information gathering - such as you seem to maintain - will inevitably lead to too small a sampling of information and drawing erronious conclusions.

While it would be nice (in some peoples' minds) if all information was presented in easily identifiable snippets from approved sources, the real world does not function that way.   Indeed, societies which have attempted to restrict the flow of data to only approved means and forms historically fall by the wayside.   Perhaps you should rethink your opinions as to who, what, why, where and how information can be presented and gathered.

@EWSoccer64,

hmmm...I see what you're sayin', and I'm not arguing the point, it's just that wasn't the road I was going down.  I did react to what appeared to be a smart-a** comment by SoccerMama01 about alwaysasoccermom, only because as previously stated alwaysasoccermom has already stood up and identified herself by name and club association.  That's taking personal responsibility for what she says in these posts in a way most folks here would not want to do, and while I do not know JoAnne I do respect that she is a stand-up lady.  Who knows, maybe SoccerMama01 wasn't making a smarta** comment and I just woke up on the wrong side of the bed yesterday!  I'm not a mind reader and for now I will quit pretending I am.  Reserving the right, for the future, to read minds again.

Everyone should post their opinions and their facts, the more information the better.  Then it is up to us, the readers, to evaluate the sources and the info.   Societies - be they soccer or nations or cultures - that try to limit the flow of information to approved, officially good information all end up on the scrap heap.

@Eastofthe206   To be perfectly honest I was just asking questions and opinions of fellow members in the club. Thank you for telling me about the page where she told everyone who she is. I dont think what I asked was worthy of all you wrote compared to other comments on this site. I can tell you though that this is my last post on this topic. Now that it seems this is like beating a dead horse. I wish everyone the best in the end. I hope that someday MRFC can get back to where they were before all of this and it can be about kids and soccer. Good luck everyone.

I am not going to respond about MRFC falling apart.  But I will with regard to you making a comment about the former MRFC treasurer and Steve Cooke.

1.  The former MRFC Treasurer is NOT being investigated for not filing taxes for the club and other money issues.  This is a very very dangerous and slanderous comment to make.  Unless you attended meetings or have intimate information of how she operated, I would refrain from saying anything.

2.  Steve Cooke has responded on a post about what transpired.  His team (my daughter's)was just in the semi-finals of the Challenge Cup this weekend.  Unfortunately, they were defeated by Eastside.  I can wholeheartedly tell you that this team would have stayed together for as long as they could.  The coaches are great, the girls were phenomenal and the parents are wonderful.  There is an old saying "Why fix what isn't broken?"  MRFC decided to offer him a different team this year and the parents decided to have their girls tryout at different clubs. All the girls want to do is play soccer (really well I might add with their friends) - not too much to ask.

I have been appalled by the recent posts and decided that I am not going to create a login and not reveal who I am (it's called full disclosure).  I am not one of these individuals who would spend the time and create a login/email address, type up a slanderous comment for ALL to see and not reveal my true identity - that individual is classified as a coward.

The Semi-Finals are next weekend, so how can that be?

My opinion is that these parents are some of the worst bellyachers I've ever heard.

Because YOU said the semis are  next weekend.....................  which they are for the older ones, but the younger ones are done, which is what the post was referring to.
