BU16 - Placement as I understand it
« Reply #2 on: March 20, 2006, 04:15:34 PM »

Well with Storm Green folding what teams willl be in P1, P2, P3 for 2006?  Are any other team in these divisions not returning for 2006?  Which teams of those going to LPT's  will make P3, should be 5 spots at least available.
Is it me or shouldn't try outs be after Regionals/Nationals so that the State Cup winners are kept together until after they have a chance to play on the big stage, and we wonder why Washington doesn't do well at Regionals compared to other States or does California, Arizona, Colorado have the same system, crown a State Champ and then break up the team with try outs.
Isn't one of the goals for WSYSA the ability to get Regional Champs, according to their Premier Club post.

Various rumors (which people should take care to emphasize are just that 'rumors'), have the following possible BU16 teams folding --

The Vancouver Stealth who finished 7th in P2 and were relegated to P3 are going away.

Vancouver FC Force finished somewhere in P3, rumored to be gone.

With the Stealth gone,

EC White would presumably stay P2, assuming they survived tryouts.

P2 would have two new P3 teams, plus one hanger oner...

I'm not sure what happens to LPTs at P3.   Presumably two P3 2005 teams move up in P3 standings and out of LPTs, if that's how it works.

Spokane Shadow - This team is returning 11 players and has picked up 2 from River City SC Force and 1 from WFC Rangers Gold.

SSC Falcons - Formerly River City SC Force-Dinaro.  New club ... new coach ... same Association.  Team is returning 12 River City SC Force players.  Picked up players from 4 other teams.

Oops - you have 9 teams in P2
« Reply #6 on: March 22, 2006, 12:56:24 PM »

Even if the P2 going to P3 Stealth fold - count the teams. P2 has 9 teams in it. The third place P3 team will not move to P2 - it already has 8 teams. Instead, the 4th and 5th place P3 teams will stay in P3.

With FWU folding would EC stay in P1 or would HSA Heat move up?

I cannot find the premier league handbook on the wsysa web site but I think the Emerald City Green benefits from Storm folding most.

As for Stealth, if they keep the P2, is it too late for them to put together a team? Has all the talent moved to other clubs.

As I understand it, the Stealth have until something like May 1st to reassemble their team.

Given the rumors this is the placement.

1. Eastside FC 90 Red
2. Crossfire Premier 90 Brown
3. FC Kitsap Red 90
4. Norpoint FC 90 Flame
5. FC United 90 Navy
6. Spokane Shadow 90
7. Columbia Timbers 90 Blue
8. Emerald City FC 90 Green

9. Columbia Timbers 90 Red
10. HSA Heat 90
11. NWN Roma 90
12. Sparta 90
13. Snohomish United Titans
14. Crossfire Premier 90 Burpo
15. Sun City Strikers Red
16. Emerald City FC 90 White

17. FC Alliance Gold 90
18. Whatcom FC Rangers Gold
19. L.V. United
20. River City SC Force-Dinaro
21. LPT
22. LPT
23. LPT
24. LPT

I believe Promotion/Relegation happens first then teams shuffle upward to fill open spots created by teams folding or not returning the required number of players.
