I wanted to say congrats again David.

I'm not so sure about the whole getting to where your link is, I'd ask them for a main page link.  :drinks:

Oh and let them know that flash rotator on the main page is no good with my ipod touch or for that matter anyone with an iphone or ipad that frequents their site.  :drinks:

Seriously though...keep up the good work.

One of the new Kitsap Pumas boys, Garrett Staples (goalkeeper) is a Cavalier grad!
We talked about the school just the other day...at the Pumas Kickoff Luncheon.  8)

oh great more English style soccer! we need more South American and Latin American soccer mixed in with our selfish attitude not this long ball style soccer. It is so predictable and boring to watch- He needs to head down to Brazil, Argentina or Uruguay clubs to see the light- just my opinion of course- nothing against the licese

Westsound FC talks about being in the RCL:

http://wsysa.com/Resources/Communications/InTheSpotlight/WestsoundFCFeature/tabid/1645/language/en-US/Default.aspx

Westsound FC Director of Coaching Lee Christie talks about the meaning of being in the RCL. “The importance of being a founding member of the RCL is profound for Westsound FC. The PDL was a fantastic league run and organized by some wonderful people but I believe we were seen as elitist and an old boys network, and one of the down sides to the PDL was we had no real power ie: To discipline clubs within our own organization or to affect change on the lower levels of soccer within the state.”

Now Christie suggests the future could correct some of these concerns. “With the PDL now becoming the RCL and being under the direction of Washington Youth Soccer we now have the power to really make changes for the better within the RCL itself and for youth soccer all over the state of Washington. Closer to home I believe we have even more responsibility thrust upon us as we want to become our district's premier level team and not just our association's. We understand that this is a big undertaking and with the help of my excellent Board of Directors we plan to represent District 4 with excellent performance on and off the field.”

Hmmmm - He got a UEFA A license, not a FA license.  UEFA is European.   European teams cleaned up on South American teams in this last World Cup.  Sent them all packing.  What we need is more German, Dutch (well, true Dutch, not what they played in that final for sure), and Spanish soccer.  Entertaining soccer might be nice to watch, but isn't it the thought that we (U.S.A.) is trying to win on the world stage? We can look good all we want, but until we start winning...

My two latest interviews for In the Spotlight:

David Griffith, about the Soccer in Schools program:
http://wsysa.com/Resources/Communications/InTheSpotlight/SoccerinSchools/tabid/1647/language/en-US/Default.aspx

“This year I am excited to be working with RCL clubs, many of which have already been active in the program. Now we'll be able to reach that many more schools than if it was just myself (going to schools). Within a certain association's area what I would like to do then is to offer the opportunity to local clubs, local associations to come out and actually support me in running the school programs. Even if it is just a one-off appearance. I've had success with this kind of partnership in Kent and Federal Way.”

Gary White, about the Elite Coaches Clinic:
http://wsysa.com/Resources/Communications/InTheSpotlight/EliteCoachesClinic/tabid/1648/language/en-US/Default.aspx

“It wasn't just a series of lectures to a seated crowd,” said White. “The clinicians had the ability to get nice and close to the participants. So for example, each session had a question and answer portion. I don't know how many times you will get to sit with Sigi Schmid for fifteen minutes. Or Kasey Keller, or Tom Dutra, or Dave Tenney...or any of our highlighted coaches. They really answered questions based around participants' own needs. It was world class. We even had some of the clinicians bring the participants on to the field (at the Showare Center) which allowed for a really dynamic exchange for everyone in the program.”
