What a clever soccer name - defeeter - makes me picture a real tough tackle to the feet...

Some friends back east have a team called "ballistas" - pun on "baristas" plus a ballista was a medieval siege weapon...

More scores

Premier
THUSC Mercury  0-2  FC Portland Navy96
WSA Glory  2-1  Seattle United G96 Copa

Southside Soccer Trinidad  2-3  Synergy FC 96 Orange

This game was interesting...very poorly reffed game...Synergy keeper received Red Card for saying a obscene word(she swears she did not say) and was tossed from the game 10 min in( I could not hear what she was saying to many parents booing)...Synergy was down 1-2 after a PK from Trinidad from the mark and played the rest of the game with the 10 players, but came back in the 1st half to take the lead 3-2.

The 4 defense backs and back up keeper finished up the game shutting down Trinidad... Great team work girls

Synergy takes 1st in there division and waits for the winner of the PK shoot out Sunday morning between THUSC and WSA at 7:50 am to  see who plays in Semi's against Synergy

In the Semi's
FC 96 Orange  vs  2nd Place Flight B
PK's with THUSC and WSA at 7:50 am

;D  Drama Drama Drama,  Sounds like an exciting time in Oswego none the less

I wasn't there so how would I know what happened, but heard it was not the "crap" said by the keeper which drew the red card, but the crap attitude.  Too much complaining about the pk and then grabbing the ball out of the net and punting it 50 yards in the wrong direction.  Just giving the other side of the story   8)

The offical report log reported it as an offesive word (Crap) to the center judge. If it was the kick they are not saying that... She was not trying to kick it to the side lines, but just to the front...for the kick off... she shanked it....and the rest as they say....is history...now  on to Semi's

Possibly a shank of a kick, followed by "crap" and a redcard?   ;D

Hearing there was some good banter from the coaches as well.  Sounds like we all missed a good one

I was there, no connection to either club playing as I was waiting for next game.  I find the spin on the events interesting, but not truthful....

After pk, the keeper was SCREAMING at the center hysterically and making an absolute fool of herself.  She then grabs the ball and punts it deliberately out side of field and continues to berate the center.  Red card given.  Keeper throws herself on the ground wailing, sobbing, and flopping around.  I haven't see quite a tantrum like this since my youngest was 2.  Even worse was the parents berating the center as if the keepers behavior was anything but ordinary.  Even our U-12's waiting for their game were in shock and laughing at the infantile behavior of the keeper.

Actually it sounds like you missed some infantile behavior on the part of a player, a coach and several parents. Nothing to be proud of.

Always nice to get an actual unbias and more factual recap. I do find it hard to believe the keeper was flopping on the ground, but do appreciate the effort of breaking thru the synergy/bigb spin zone and bs

Synergy falls thusc Mercury 3-0 ...Mercury keeper did a great job and so did there team :drinks: :drinks:...all 3 goals scored in the last 10 min of the game..Synergy looked tired and out of focus...also having there keeper sitting out didn't help much either...

The whole keeper red card thing is an interesting situation. I obviously wasn't there to see it so I can't speak specifically on this situation. If what the "unbiased" report is true then of course that behavior deserves a red card. If Bigb's scenerio were true then definatly a yellow. However, to me thats not the real issue here. My question is why was the keeper saying anything to the ref to begin with? why would she think that it was alright to say anything to the ref? And why would the coach allow players to do so?

too funny to not reply........
U14 quarterfinals silver

FCSC Nemesis 0-1 Alaska Rush

Sounds like the Alaska keeper takes lessons from Synergy. She was yelling at the ref and her own defender turned to her and said he can give you a yellow- the keeper's reply "I don't care! This is CRAP!" Apparently the ref didn't hear her.

How about this one- Sherwood not in the championship game after steam rolling through everyone in bracket A???  :o
So the two teams that were in second place in their brackets are now playing for the championship and all I can say is it will be a very very physical game.

I have answer, cause the coaches were too busy yelling at the center and so were the parents   ;D

No doubt it's tough to run without your keeper, and I'm sure the keeper learned a lesson that won't happen again.  Just one more reason why all us cp's and coaches need to watch what we say and how we act on the pitch.  Win or lose I'm always happy when everyone is talking about the plays of the game and not the behavior of the parents/players

Here's a lovely one I got second hand ( but reliably) from a CP. U 10 no less. If true makes even an old snake like me cringe.
A U 10 player agrees to guest on a Pacific FC team for LO tourney. Practices with the team etc. Then a coach  from FCSC asks player to guest on her (I think)  U 12. This coach allegedly tells her (and parents presumably) that it is OK to play on 2 teams since it a different age group. FCSC coach also has a U10 team competing against the Pacific team. U 12 team does not qualify for Sunday so FCSC coach then allegedly self reports a rule violation  (player on 2 teams) DQ ing her U12 team and interestingly the U10 team her U10 was competing with.  :o  :o FCSC team moves on.

Anyone know more about this? I take it all with a grain but jeeze!

Speaking of FCSC.  Has anyone watched the 98 Nemesis team?  I would hate to hear what he says to the girls that can't be heard across the field.  He SCREAMS at his players the entire game.  How about this one shouted so loud every parent and player could hear, "If you miss that one more time I am yanking your butt.  You killed is with that last time we lost to them and you are not going to do that again!"  In a 6-2 loss, he ran through 3 keepers and the first one he pulled had ZERO chance on the 1st two goals but pulled her then.

WOW- SB if that is ALL true that is horrible. - Actually if any this is true that is really awful. Not at all good for FCSC which I thought was turning a corner with the new doc. Now assuming you both are talking about the u12 team which if my math is right would be the 98's. SO is this all from the same team? IDK who that coach is.  I have no idea who has u12. I do know the doc at FCSC and he's not about to stand for anything unethical.  I think that the PFC coach should file a complaint about it-assuming this is true - I don't care if the coach is David Beckham- anyone with those ethics has no business working with kids.

That said I will add that my DD is now with FCSC and it's been good. I was concerned because we'd had bad experiences with the parents  on the sidelines and had heard negative things about the previous doc. I even got some unsolicited pms about the club. So far so good for us - DD is happy and it is different for sure but in a good way. I didn't think there was much difference between premier and select. DD has been on what are considered top select teams and I don't believe she's on a top 'premier' team. I will say there is a difference. It might just be my kid- but it's different. SB you know me and I'm not a CP that thinks her DD is 'all that and a bag o chips'. It was her choice where she plays- I just drive the car and write the checks.  All that said SB- she's just dying to scrimmage. :)

I thought it was odd at Lake Oswego that we didn't need to turn in player cards- couldn't that have avoided this? I mean all they asked for was a roster. SOme clubs had two teams playing in different brackets- with the same coaches- who knows if they moved players around between those teams? I mean if your A team misses out and your B team moves on would a coach be tempted to 'move' a player? I mean it's with in the club right? We've seen and heard of worse things right?

SB - The player was and has been playing on the Salmon Creek U10 Academy Yellow team the past Spring and this Summer.  The SC Yellow U10 team was entered in the Gold U10 group and this player played in all of the games for the Nike Cup tournament without any issues.  The team didn't make it out of bracket on Saturday so they were off on Sunday.  The Salmon Creek coach shows up with her U10 B team on Sunday morning to play the Pacific Team and guess who is on the Pacific Team...yes that player.  The Salmon Creek coach reported the violation and also reported what happened to the SC DOC. I do not see any issue with what she did as this would be the proper action.  Now, here is the million dollar question SB?  Did the parents tell the Pacific coach that their kid was playing on another SC team?

Speaking of FCSC.  Has anyone watched the 98 Nemesis team?  I would hate to hear what he says to the girls that can't be heard across the field.  He SCREAMS at his players the entire game.  How about this one shouted so loud every parent and player could hear, "If you miss that one more time I am yanking your butt.  You killed is with that last time we lost to them and you are not going to do that again!"  In a 6-2 loss, he ran through 3 keepers and the first one he pulled had ZERO chance on the 1st two goals but pulled her then.

Switch - you are usually pretty straight on when you post.  I was at this game and I did hear the coach yell, but not what you quote there.  I know it can't be true as both of his keepers were not at the game when they last played that team.  Second, the team only has two keepers.  The third keeper he "ran through"  was the original keeper going back in to finish the game.  I didn't think you were a negative person, but I'll tell you that I've watched this coach over the past 10 years and you should see how much he yells and screams when the team is winning and playing well.  Hell, I've even had some beers with the guy a couple of times and he's loud as hell in the pub!  He's a good guy, a good coach, with a great team and he's done a good job in getting those kids to play well.  We all have different styles..why bash someone when he's not even present to defend himself.

I hope that is how it happened, that's just not what I heard.
