It's strange to me that you can't have different players, since it's a completely different league. You would think that there could be a roster, or registered team with different players for each league. I guess I just don't understand, but it's not the first time.  ???  ;)

A player can be rostered for ECNL and play for another team.  I think that's still called a guest player.

Also a player may be registered to two different clubs ... one USYSA the other US Club Soccer.

One question(two parts).   Is the ECNL a WYS sanctioned league?  Are these teams playing in a WYS sanctioned league?

If the answer is no to both, than they should not be allowed to play in State Cup.  Per the States rules.  If yes to either, let them play.

Or, also play in a State sanctioned league. Remember that the ECNL games occur at tourneys.

we are still playing in the pdl/rcl league which follows high school.  i was also told, no guest players allowed unless they are already in our club.  maybe crossfire is handling it differently but there are strict ecnl rules about training on a regular basis as a team and that doesn't happen with guest players.  it is just the same regular team picked at tryouts and they play in a wsysa league which is the rcl now and a usclub league which is the ecnl but not using different girls for different leagues. same girls.  may take a B team player to us club. not a girl from outside the club.

No (ECNL is a US Club league sort of although you could call it a tournament) and yes ECNL teams will still participate in the RCL.

If they play RCL, then they play State Cup.  Do they have an advantage?  Maybe.  But we will find out when they play the games.  Brazil was a favorite.  How did that go?   If the bet was ECNL team or rest of the field,  I would take the rest of the field.  A Non-ECNL team is going to be extra motivated and win.
