FW Girls U14--- Couve Pride.....
B- Bracket Vipers
C- Bracket WS Revolution Silver
D- Bracket Nemesis
Total for Couve teams GF-27 GA- 1. In twelve games the teams had 11 shutouts! Way to go girls and congrats to all the teams. Revolution ended up playing their neighbors from the north (Timberbarons in their final). Looks like a season coming up.
Before anyone gets too excited about those results, perhaps some questions should be asked. What is the "premier" club Nemesis doing in the D bracket (a week after really challenging themselves with the silver bracket in Lake Oswego), and exactly how many players for the Revolution will be on the roster come Fall? It seems I have seen some of those players wearing different uniforms. As best I could tell, at least the Vipers did it on their own. Congrats to the Vipers for using their team and playing at a decent level.
The brackets were assigned based upon results from earlier tournaments, teams had no control over that. Brackets and schedules were done before Lake Oswego at which time the Nemesis only results were from the Clash- where they played and did not qualify for the silver based upon the fact that they were not in the bottom four. That put them up in the gold and they only played three games. The teams that beat them were the eventual champions and the finalist of the gold bracket. The brackets in Federal Way were not picked- but were assigned so if you question why a team was in a certain bracket that would be up to the director of the tournament. They also had guest players- one from outside the club and the rest will be in FCSC uniforms come fall as they were mainly U13 guests. It's no secret that the team is still looking for players- it's on the website. The Mount Hood Challenge is coming up which will test them.
Revolution is a brand new team so it is no surprise that you'd seen the players in different uniforms. I imagine you may have even seen them in basketball or softball uniforms at some point.
Vipers are a great side and don't need guest players as the majority of their players returned and they also have a large enough roster to not need guests. Vipers are great team no question about it, and of course they had a special fan there cheering them on!
IMO the teams in the correct brackets from down south were the vipers and the timber barons. But since I don't assign the brackets I am just going to congratulate all the teams. I guess that the four teams could have all been in one bracket- but why travel to Federal Way for that?
Yummm, tates good. Did your coach cook that up fresh for you. The Blast Off folks may move up and down a slot, perhaps even two, but requests are made by the teams for where they want to play. You are at a select tournament, and you get placed in the fourth division based on results? No. "Premier" team? Silver at Lake Oswego? Really? Why would anyone pay what Salmon Creek is charging now, to play in a Commissioner's Cup bound team. Gosh, at this rate, they might apply for a waiver to play in President's Cup.
As for the Revolution, I'm not talking other uniforms as in past years. I'm talking, like last week, and pretty sure they will be putting on their old uniforms again this week. There were at least 5 players guest playing from local premier A teams. Kids that are in the Sounders thingy. At a select tournament? Really. At least play in a higher bracket.
Again, congrats to the Vipers for playing things on the level.
