MRFC Cosmos 95 playing up in the FW Blast Off went 2-1 in bracket play.
Lost to Kent United 94 2-1 and won against Sparta 94 5-0 and won vs Wa Rush 94 2-0.
They go on to the finals tomorrow vs Kent United.
Kent United and Cosmos had a scrimmage a few weeks back and Cosmos won that one so tomorrows game is the tie breaker for bragging rights!  ;D

FW Blastoff GU 14 B Bracket Final

Exciting match between Pacific FC Vipers and UPSC Strikers. Strikers had the better of it most of the first half with steady passing and d. They had some thru balls but couldn't convert. Early on Vipes looked to have one off a corner but went over the net. From the side it looked like it was in because it rattled the fence behind the goal. Celebration was premature. Toward the end of the first half Vipes got steady pressure but couldn't put the biscuit in the basket. Second half found Vipers getting a lot of chances but no dice. A coupelmore Striker challenges were repelled. Beautiful cross by V12 found Capital Em #19 bt the Striker keep made a outstanding diving save! :drinks: With only a minute or so to go another feed to Em found the net!  ;D  ;D Final 1-0
Was a rematch of yesterday's bracket contest which Vipes took 3-1. Strikers came to play and it was a tough loss for a determined team. Nice job by both teams and officiating was quite good.

FW Blast Off U16 A Bracket went to Kent United in a overtime win 1-0
Regulation ended with it being 0-0. First 10 minute OT Kent put one in. 2nd OT, Cosmos had their chances but couldn't find the net.
Kent wins a great game! CONGRATS!!

Looked in on the Harbor and Synergy U15 game. Synergy was losing 3-0 at that point.

Before anyone gets too excited about those results, perhaps some questions should be asked.  What is the "premier" club Nemesis doing in the D bracket (a week after really challenging themselves with the silver bracket in Lake Oswego), and exactly how many players for the Revolution will be on the roster come Fall?  It seems I have seen some of those players wearing different uniforms.  As best I could tell, at least the Vipers did it on their own.  Congrats to the Vipers for using their team and playing at a decent level.

The brackets were assigned based upon results from earlier tournaments, teams had no control over that. Brackets and schedules were done before Lake Oswego at which  time the Nemesis only results were from the Clash- where they played and did not qualify for the silver based upon the fact that they were not in the bottom four. That put them up in the gold and they only played three games. The teams that beat them were the eventual champions and the finalist of the gold bracket. The brackets  in Federal Way were not picked- but were assigned so if you question why a team was in a certain bracket that would be up to the director of the tournament. They also had guest players- one from outside the club and the rest will be in FCSC uniforms come fall as they were mainly U13 guests. It's no secret that the team is still looking for players- it's on the website. The Mount Hood Challenge is coming up which will test them.

Revolution is a brand new team so it is no surprise that you'd seen the players in different uniforms. I imagine you may have even seen them in basketball or softball uniforms at some point.

Vipers are a great side and don't need guest players as the majority of their players returned and they also have a large enough roster to not need guests. Vipers are great team no question about it, and of course they had a special fan there cheering them on!

IMO the teams in the correct brackets from down south were the vipers and the timber barons. But since I don't assign the brackets I am just going to congratulate all the teams. I guess that the four teams could have all been in one bracket- but why travel to Federal Way for that?

Yummm, tates good. Did your coach cook that up fresh for you.  The Blast Off folks may move up and down a slot, perhaps even two, but requests are made by the teams for where they want to play.  You are at a select tournament, and you get placed in the fourth division based on results?  No. "Premier" team?  Silver at Lake Oswego?  Really?  Why would anyone pay what Salmon Creek is charging now, to play in a Commissioner's Cup bound team.  Gosh, at this rate, they might apply for a waiver to play in President's Cup.

As for the Revolution, I'm not talking other uniforms as in past years.  I'm talking, like last week, and pretty sure they will be putting on their old uniforms again this week.  There were at least 5 players guest playing from local premier A teams.  Kids that are in the Sounders thingy.  At a select tournament?  Really.  At least play in a higher bracket.

Again, congrats to the Vipers for playing things on the level.

I saw a young player this weekend at Federal Way Blast that I think is going to be a kid to watch as she grows up.  Her number was 16 and she flew by everyone in my daughter's game against them.  She was all over the field and she never seemed to get tired.  Not only did she have outstanding speed she had the ball skills to go with it at U12 and had great vision and passing.

So look out for #16 on BFC G98 Red (K. Jones).  Looks like they had the results to be in the finals on their bracket but there was a forfiet.  Not sure what was up with that.

Hulabaloo 16s mine. She is actually on gu12  black but was helping because they were short. Wish i could take credit but i'm just a taxi driver. I'll tell her she got some compliments.  Was told 2 different reasons the team had 2 forfeit. One was there were 2 many guest players rostered.  On Fri the team did play with 6 guests, 4 from our black team and 2 rec players. Sat. we played w/o subs and 5 guests.  The other reason I was given was we were too skilled to be in that bracket .  I am guessing this came about from a team we had to play at the Blast Off that our GU12 black  beat at KITG.  He recognized my daughter and some of her team mates from that tournament.  Rules are rules and we did play with too many guests. The Red team would have had to pull out otherwise.  Heard they were not the only team that was playing with more than 5 guests but normally nobody says much about it.

Main reason I hold my opinions regarding tournament season. With so many guest players, (not saying it is a bad thing), the real analysis of a team comes during state cup and league play. Some teams have won with a number of guest players while others have lost with guest players. Tough to tell unless you are in the know.

She looksl like she is fast and talented enough to play many sports.  I hope she make soccer one of her main ones.  I would also say she was very unselfish.  She could have dribbled straight through a bunch of our players but instead made the passes she should have been making.  You can tell her I'm the dad that was telling my daughters team on Saturday evening to mark in front and back of her when a throw in was going to occur.  She gave me a big smile and I gave her a thumbs up. :)
