Does anyone know why the Rainier Challenge has it set up the tournament in the following way?  Seems like it would be better if the GU13 brackets also had a semi-final.

GU13 Samba with 5 teams per flight:  Top team from each flight advance directly to the Championship Game

GU14 Samba with 4 teams per flight:  Top 2 teams from each flight advance to the Semi-finals

Congratulations to HPFC 93 girls for making their way into the GU17 finals at the Rainier Challenge, defeating WPFC and GRFC teams along the way.  This is a very well-coached team that has a few roster spots to fill.   

If you are a GU17 or GU16 player who is looking for a coach who understands the game and explains tactics really well, and who insists that his players play thoughtfully, rather than just on instinct, please contact coach Dan Keene at dkeene@greenriver.edu or team manager Taree at tareew@comcast.net.  Taree's not just a terrific team manager, she's great fun!

My daughter played for Dan last year at U18, and learned a tremendous amount about how and why to play soccer; she just wishes he'd become the coach sooner so she could have learned more from him!  Dan is an assistant coach at UPS, a program with a great winning tradition; he brings the same attention to detail to his club team.

The final score was actually 4-1 as they posted the wrong score...but a loss is a loss. Tough second game of the day in 95 degree heat. Pride SC ended up winning it all.
