Thats sad, tell her if it makes her feel any better BK is one of the leaders in that department. I'll cheer for her, just let me know her number on FCSC and i'll cheer. I happen to be friends with their coaches this year, and hope the best for them.

Since it's not a state secret and since she posted it- she's Nemesis 7. It's her first year with this team and so far it's been a great fit for her.

Good luck to your kiddo, Sarabellum, and I'm sorry to hear about the negative. Not a way to say hello, but some folks on here get a bit 'excited' about their teams, I guess. Possibly could be another kid, who knows. I hope she does well with the new team!

I have always said that the wickeds don't bother me. And for the most part they don't. Its when I get dinged for not saying anything that chaps my hide.

That's one of those stupid, harsh lessons that the Internet forces younger kids to learn: Not everyone is thinking straight or a nice person. Which is too sad, really, because everyone should be thinking through these things before they do them rather than just clicking a button out of spite.

But, at the same time, it's nice to see more young people getting on here and posting what they do, so congrats to her and I hope that it doesn't drive her away. I know that my introduction on here last year was pretty much the same way, but I also knew who gave it to me and why, so that helps.

I hope she stays around long enough to see that it's still fun on here.

remind your daughter that idiots and losers give wickeds, but that the world is full of them so better get used to it. Not fair to do that to a kid. I've never cared for the + or - karma thing for that reason. Especially being anonymous, it gives those who are spineless a place to strike out against those they despise for being nice. Especially those of us who are nice, and handsome, and rich, and talented, hahahaha !!

I know I may get blasted for this but trying to be constructive here.  When the whole +- thing was set up the positives were to be given for posts that were of value.  Someone probably took that as meaning that if a post was not of value it should get a -

geez, she's only 14. Tough to be treated like that at her age.  Well, she plays for a great club, it's understandable she would use it in her nic.  Though, imagine the wickeds she would have recieved if she played for Crossfire!

i'm sure no one knew she was a kid, we aren't that mean on here i would hope.  i get dinged all the time when i haven't posted for a long time and i get dinged when i post something pretty benign but there are mean spirited adults who feel better for taking a punch at a punching bag with another adults name on it, or putting the pin in the eye of the doll with a person's face on it.  i'm sorry she had to be exposed to the adult pettiness that sometimes goes on here.  but most of us are pretty nice folks or we wouldn't be here at all. +1 from me for just being brave enough to check us out.

Sometimes you wonder what a couple of folks on this site measure their +'s and -'s against? I believe that feedback in general is great, and only when you are condemning another, without base or fact should you really be using a “-.”

Of course for some it is easier to hide behind the screen name, and make it a “free-for-all.” But in the end, as many have stated, this is the World we live in, and whether it is on this site or in the “real” World, she is going to encounter this.

+1 for voicing how you and your player feel about this!

Did she say she was a kid?   Never saw the post, but if I find it hard to believe that any adult on this forum would ding some kid's first post.
But someone tell her she has many many years of hard work of pissing people off until she can even consider getting into the top ten of negative karma.   Those of us in that position will continue to work hard to maintain our elite status!

It was in Players Needed / Team Needed.   The description is "Teams looking for players or players looking for a team"
Would think that would be kid-friendly (ish), since players could be posting.

It was in the players needed section.  On her profile it has her age, but I don't know if people take the time to look at that. So far I've pointed out the u14 forum to her- we aren't too terribly bad on here. I just know in the 96 posts her team gets a lot of negative comments so I want to keep her away from that.

Her team has 11 players so they need some and most of her friends are already on teams. A couple of her friends have guested with the team- she really had a great time with that.  DD she's a straight shooter so she doesn't want anyone that has already committed to a team. She hates it as a player to loose team mates when you think they'll be around.  She just loves her team so much and is really excited about the coaching and everything.

I'm confused honestly why anyone would let the wicked or wonderful bother them but that's me. I understand she is a kid but there have been adults on here as well that take it personal. To me if you let some random button people can click effect you emotionally then life is going to be really tough on you.

The reality these days is your DD and all of your DS will be called way worse in life at some point. Some stupid Karma button mean Jack#hit in the real world and on here.

One thing this forum will teach people is we all have opinions and some choose to give you a wicked rather than respond because in reality they are the cowards. If i wicked anyone it's only because I know it bothers them and it's the easiest way to pull their chain and get their goat. i often just wicked myself because I find it so fun!!!!

My name is Rose Castro-Ocuaman, nice to meet you!   I considered last year just doing the anonymity thing, but as this year kept working out, and I became more active on this site, I decided to just be up front; especially since there are so many valuable comments on this site.
