American Idol tonight

It's a new year with new judges and I'd like to hear peoples thoughts on the first show of the year.

I know my thread is early, but answer tomorrow if you'd like.

I wasn't expecting much from the judges but once the show started it was great!!!

I think this will be another steller year for Idol.  :drinks:

Love Steven Tyler and Jennifer, BUT  they have got to cut out all the people continually saying how beautiful she is.  We know that now after 2 nights, let's get more substance and also show more funny stuff along with the serious competitors.  How about the last performance on Thursday night?  Wow she was great.

Steven Tyler is great so far as a judge.  I loved his question to the one really terrible guy, when he asked, "did you eat a lot of paint chips as a child?"  He is just cool.  How old is he any way? Mid Fifties to Sixties?  The young girls still love him. 

Im gonna miss having one blunt, tell it like it is, jerk on the panel.  Someone needs to be the hatchet.

the rumor from Covington, home of Stefano, is that nobody has seen him in town and his mom says he is still out of town...so must be sticking around for a bit.  The guy is a legend at Kentwood high school.

That is very cool.  He isn't one of my favorites but he does sing very well and seems like a real nice kid.

This thread kind of died a long time ago...saw Scotty win last night.  Boy they had some old timers play.  Tony Bennett???  Judas Priest???  Looked like they were going to fall over.  Disappointed in Bono and Edge...Beyonce and Lady Gaga were interesting,,,,,,I loved it when my girlfriend (Carrie Underwood) came out and sang for me...She was SMOKING!!!!  Anyway, good show last night and it will be interesting if the two finalists are an item long term.

Carrie is ALWAYS smoking. Love seeing and hearing her sing.
As much as everyone fawned over J-Lo this season, she was hot Hot HOT in the dance number with her hubby

But then again, when I liked someone it was a pretty safe bet they were going home the next week...I'm a jinx maybe?  :-\
