Refer back to the Strategic Plan put together by Glick and Assoc. and check off the things that have been accomplished in two years. Then refer back to TF and GW and check off the things that have been accomplished in about two years. Not much, when it comes to putting check marks to paper. Sure, we have serviced the Elite level with RCL and EDP/ODP/Sounder Youth or what ever term we are giving it now. Sure we have dealt with an almost constant stream of legal battles, even against former employees. Sure we have a diversity program that really is only the project of the first family and OBTW try to get the "State" to support a local one that mister and the misses can't put their name on and hold your breath until you are blue. Again, if you are not entrenched in a legal battle with the "State" and are more than 30 minutes from Fed Way, good luck seeing and official "State" folks. What about "State" sponsorship? TW and the minions that are in the office have hit the street and brought in what revenue. Sit and talk with them and they only can think of ways to charge membership more $$$ rather than getting $$$ from corporate sponsors, and stop already with the coffee deals. I am tired of coffee!!! TF was supposed to have just a wonder background in marketing and the "State" has lost more $$$ in the last two years that $$$ brought in. Dairy Farmers? Fred Meyers? Adidas??? It's no wonder Clubs have to pay for tournament sanctioning now. Committee representation? Select & Rec, how are your State level committees going? Meeting Minutes? When was the last time you saw WYS post updated minutes on the web page? Hair brained ideas like "lets leave players fees alone for a year, despite the fact that we know we are going to expand services and OBTW USSF is probably going to shank us in the shower and thennnnnn let's try to raise rates, in a down economy by $3 to $5 over three years. There a good plan! The Foundation to fund ODP/EDP. Heard of this? Probably not. Soccer Pacific. Heard of this? Probably not. One World. Heard of this? Probably not. Heard of a Cinco de Mayo tournament at StarFire that involved Adult and Youth teams that WYS was going to put their brand to? Probably not. How about the idea of getting into the Indoor Tournament market. What? Well I guess there used to be Indoor rules in the WSYSA Handbook. Just how do these projects that have been going on for the past two years help to grow the game and at what cost. Should it really take this long. Heck, at the grass roots level in Woodland Washington, there is AYSO soccer. AYSO, what? They wanted to be part of Cowlitz Youth Soccer and again, refer back to being 30 plus minutes from Fed Way and you will know why there are NO US Youth Soccer members in Woodland.
I am sure that I can go on, but I am getting light headed from being up here on my soap box, so I am going to get down, before I fall down.
