So CAP # 38 and 39 get automatic entry into Challenge Gold while Cap score #37 automatically gets put into Challenge Silver.

That's brilliant...

Don't you pay some sort of big fine for missing your league game?

So what happens if you lose that first play in game? Are you out of everything?

Are all the teams in play in games there because they wanted to be in the Championship Cup? I see a few that will struggle against the Div. 1 teams, it doesn't make sense to me that they would want to go in there.

Of course they are!  ;D
I look at it this way, it gave us something to bitch talk about before the real brackets came out and possibly for the State to hear the gripes beforehand so they knew what to fix for each level

If you lose the first play in game you drop down into challenge Cup, Some of the 1st round play in losers drop all the way to challenge cup silver division.

My thinking is that most of the teams opted to try to play into Championship Cup because they wanted to see how they stacked up against the best teams in the state. I applaud them for stepping up and taking the tough path. I'd rather see that than the 7th ranked team in the state in one age group opting to play in Challenge Cup and the 6th,9th and 13th ranked teams in the state opting to do so in another age group.

How dare you try to begrudge the RCL clubs the trophies they ae entitled to by right!

Just curious how they can be seeding teams in when some teams have 4-5 games left in league?

Can anyone explain the revised  U17 play-in bracket?  Is 3 rivers Bader playing someone?  four brackets, three spots in State cup.  What am I missing?

I've given up. The bracket is a mess. The state doesn't return phone calls. The scheduling of round robin games has been unexplained even to the associations. The entire thing is a first class screw up.

Exactly what the heck does April 9/10, April 10/16 and April 16/17 supposed to mean? If I'm home team 1 and I schedule my home game for April 10 and my away game 2 also gets scheduled for April 10 by team 2, who has to bend?

How can 12 play 34 for a shot at championship cup while team 29 sits all alone with either a free pass in or no ability to play in? How do you seed in team 13 and make the 12 ranked team play in? 13 should be playing 29 to earn their way in.

How do teams 39,38 and 42 get put in Gold Challenge while team 37 gets put in silver?

I'm amazed that every year the organizers of these cups manage to confuse everyone in new and interesting ways.

The more they change the more complicated this simple game becomes.

To your questions ... the only explaination I can come up with for 13 seed getting in and 12 seed playing in.  My guess is 3 Rivers withdrew or decided they only wanted to play in the Challenge Cup at such a late date that it would have caused more problems to reshuffle the bracket especially after the first round of playins had already started.  Easiest path is to send 13 seed into the tournament.

Realistically ... 12 should have gotten in and 13 should be playing BFC for play in.

I miss the old days when your seeding was determined by where you sit in the league ... and where you sit in the league was initially based on LPT but then was determined by your play on the field.

Now we have a system where seeding is based on a formula that is used only on "some" teams ... and where your league placement is based on petigree not performance.
