Washington Youth Soccer - Tukwila Office
Washington Youth Soccer, the home of youth soccer in this state, is pleased to announce that today WYS President Doug Nadreason has signed an agreement that will unify the youth soccer structure in Washington. WYS and United States Club Soccer have reached an agreement whereby all US Club Soccer operations in the state will be run by WYS. The national headquarters for USCS will continue to represent these players, and will collect a share of the registration fee, but all operations within the state of Washington will fall under WYS control as of 1 June, 2011.
President Andreason was very happy with the agreement. "I am ecstatic. Terry Fisher and I have been working with the US Club Soccer people at their national headquarters in Chicago for several months hammering this out. We will finally be able to merge US Club Soccer into the WYS Seamless Soccer plan. Starting in the fall, all the USCS players will be eligible for the EDP and the Sounders Academy. We will merge the existing USCS leagues into the WYS State Open League and the State District Leagues which will begin operation in the fall."
"With the Regional Club League now in place, we have the resources to properly place all the teams and the clubs within the local associations and leagues. In each case, the USCS teams will be placed under the guidance of the closest RCL club, which will determine the future placement for the teams. As the WYS does not recognize clubs as seperate members except for the RCL clubs, all the former US Club Soccer clubs will be put under the umbrella of the local RCL club, unless the clubs are admitted as member clubs in the local associations."
"For too long the factionalism between WYS and US Club Soccer has led to a fragmenting of the youth soccer operations in our state. This has been a serious detriment to the players, and created a host of problems. With this merger, the US Club Soccer players will be provided with proper coaching, and they will follow a proper development plan. They will become part of Seamless soccer. Some of their teams may be kept intact and placed into the RCL, at the discretion of the local RCL club and the RCL subcommittee."
" I also want to say that the rumor of large increases in the fees that the former US Club Soccer players will pay is completely untrue. They will pay just what the costs are for the players at the local RCL club, not a penny more than that. This is very fair since they will be recieving the full resources of the RCL club and of WYS."
