Now that the Girls U11 Division 1 Final Four Brackets are set, what are your predictions?

Will the finals be a rematch of the 2 survivors of the Group of Death- -the powerful Crossfire or the fast Timbers from Vancouver United?

Will a solid squad from Washington Rush surprise Crossfire? Can the fundamentally sound, talented team from Eastside get past the Timbers?

Should be a great weekend of soccer. Congratualtions to the 4 semi- finalists!

Now, who's going to win?

I won't make any predictions for the final. Too unpredictable.

U11 D2 = FC Alliance

Yes, but X-Fire beat Timbers 4-3 and 7-3 in the fall... I wouldn't count X-Fire out just yet!

This group is hard to predict. Dos beat the Timbers but got crushed by Crossfire. In the GRFC Winter Classic, Dos lost to Crossfire in group play, NWN beat Crossfire in the semi finals, and then Dos beat NWN pretty easily in the finals. A lot of teams are pretty evenly matched at GU-11. I wouldn't count any of the Final 4 out, but would guess that Crossfire will play the Timbers in the finals. Who wins? Flip a coin.

GU-11 Division 2: I think the two best teams left are FC Alliance and Spokane Shadow and they play in the semis. I'd expect the winner of that game to win in the finals; slight edge to FC Alliance. I also think either of these teams would have been competitive in Division 1 of the Challenge Cup.

I wouldnt count out anyone in the Semi Finals, a team that beat Vancouver twice and Crossfire once was bounced in the Quarterfinals. Anything can happen!!!!

You were right about Spokane Shadow. They are a tough team and beat FC Alliance today. Congrats to them!

Wow! Timbers were up 2-0 when we left.

By the way, as strange as it sounds, the Shadow Stiles vs 3RSC Suarez Div 2 final was a 6-2 OT win for Shadow. It was 2-2 at the end of regulation and the wheels came of for a Suarez team with fewer subs that really ran out of gas. Congrats to Shadow for a great tournament and keep an eye on #9 for the Shadow. That girl is extremely impressive as is the whole Shadow team.

She played on the Reign U11 team until they had an issue with that team losing so many games and took their daughter to the U10 for spring when they played up. She was not playing up with u11. Did they change the rules to allow U11 players to play in this division?

Interesting if true. Pure speculation but it has been pointed out in WPS that playing u10s at 9 v 9 is against national rules. So it could be that there were no formal age rules for the dev cup, or even that they wanted a u11 player playing in it to
avoid problems.
