If you have a teenage daughter playing select or premier soccer and are sick of the politics, high cost, and elitism in youth soccer today, or maybe your daughter has college ambitions but you can't afford the high cost WSYSA RCL programs then read on.

Fire Soccer Academy is a new, US Club Soccer program out of the Graham/Spanaway area started in 2010.  FSA is holding a second round of 2011 tryouts next week after adding over 30 players and 2 teams at our first round of tryouts in March.  We are still looking for 8 to 10 select/premier players.  The Fire program has gone from 1 team and 18 players a year ago, to 2 teams and 30+ players last fall, to 4 teams and over 60 players in less than a year.   FSA offers a new model for youth soccer designed to match players, parents, and coaches with others that have the same commitment and goals.  This new model is the result of nearly 10 years of experience coaching select/premier teams and helping run our previous club within WSYSA. There is a better way and we have found it :)  Players are arranged on FSA teams based on commitment and ability instead of just by age.  At the older age group 9th grade to 11th grade, FSA offers 3 HS age girls teams at 3 levels of play, commitment and cost all coached by experienced adult coaches and lifetime players of the game.  Since FSA is fully volunteer run and coached, we are able to keep costs much lower than other clubs, around $350 for the Fire Select teams and less than $2000 per year for the all year Premier level Fire CPT (including team gear and travel costs and a 1 week resident training camp for the CPT).  The two 2010 FSA teams played in PSPL leagues this last winter/spring and will be 100% US Club Soccer and PSPL for 2011.  Fire CPT is our "College Prep Team" and will continue to play at the highest league level available (PSPL Super League) and in as many college showcase tournaments as possible.   As a mixed age team, CPT will play at U18 each year with skilled sophomores and junors playing along side seniors heading to college the following year.  We have been doing mixed aged teams for 2 years now, including the coach's own daughters, and the results have been fantastic with our talented younger players growing at double the rate they would playing on age.  All of our CPT juniors are now visiting college cmapuses and one by one comitting to college teams.  If you live in the south sound area, have a high school age daughter with college ambitions or are looking for a lower cost select program you can get more information at our website www.firesocceracademy.com   Thanks to the freedom and flexibility of US Club Soccer, no club anywhere offers what we do! If you want to see the first really NEW model in youth soccer to come along in a long time, check us out and consider trying out for something new, something better!

Thanks to US Club Soccer and the PSPL, the high cost RCL clubs are not the only route to college play!

Yes we place players on one of our teams based on their ability, size, and soccer goals.  We have two 8th graders now playing on the CPT against 11th and 12th graders.  They are 5'8, 135 lbs and have been playing all year since they were 7.  They both earn their chance to start in the teams games every game.  One of them plays center back on our team, arguably the most important position on a high level team and she plays nearly every minute of every game.  We have other examples as well.   Both of them doubled in ability the first year we had them playing with the older players and they love their older teammates like older sisters, and the older girls in the group spend time with them off the field as well.  How far up a player can play depends on who they are and varies from kid to kid based on a lot of factors that we have learned over time.
