I am just curious NKOTB, what PM's would have made you decide to not list Fury in the top ten?  And better yet, how does a District level team make it into the top ten of this group?  The discussion regarding Fury is they do not play in the RCL and they have not consistently played the top teams in the state, so how do you rate a team like that.  Here's the other troublesome part of it all.  Since they play in the PSPL, they will not be able to play state cup so they still won't be able to play the top RCL teams.    From what I hear, they are a very good team and they are worthy of being placed at least within the top 15 if not the top 10 teams in the state.  One way to judge a team is by how it's individual players perform outside of the team.  This team has three kids (someone correct me if I am wrong) who made it through to the final pool of EDP kids.  I think that says something of the talent on the team.  Prime for recruiting from the bigger clubs???   :drinks:

I know there are alot of Fury lovers posting in this thread, but I have to interject. Delusions of grandeur. I have seen them play the last few years and top twenty at best. Most Rcl div 1,2,3 teams would beat them. Of course it is all opinion.

Don't go dissin' a team "just because it is district".   Particularly in today's set up where entry into the top league is restricted to clubs, instead of being based on team quality.
There have been a number of "just district" teams that have been very good, and even highly rated.  Why, I remember one that was rated (Gotsoccer?) as #6 in the state, but it always refused to play premier.   ;D

2)  CROSSFIRE A, RCL Div. 1 U14

Since Xfire is playing up & WP just won the Vegas turkey tourney, it will be a blast to see these two play in the NWCL final on Sunday, providing they both win Saturday. Last time they played, they tied 3-3 in October. The match prior WP won 3-1 in August.

I was told that the Vegas Tournament was the Western College Development Academy league. Just found the website and the following NW teams have the following records:

WPFC 8-0
CROSSFIRE 5-1-2
FC PORTLAND 2-1-5

Who did WPFC play to win the group play for U-13? There are some good teams in this tournament (Cal Odyssey, De Anza, San Juan, Mustangs, Diablo, Las Vegas Heat).

Yes, NW Champions league for this age group should be seen by all. Crossfire and WPFC are two great teams from the PNW.

According to the website, wpfc played xfire and fc portland along with Utah teams in pool play, then that Diablos team you mentioned and a few vegas teams.

Prime recruiting indeed.

I don't see most of these teams play so the top ten is based a lot on stats and what I hear.  I see wpfc blows teams out so maybe they don't get the competition they need, just like Fury or Tacoma United, so I don't discount the pspl or district leagues because I see one team dominating.  I have seen Fury in the B division in a few tournaments and I believe they are worth mentioning.  Maybe they are a top 15, but who's to know if they are better then Storm or Blackhills until they play.

WPFC 98 black did great down in Vegas for the WCDA.  They beat the Las Vegas Heat 2-1 to win their portion of the brackets and earlier in the weekend they beat Diablo F.C. (1-0), Downtown Las Vegas S.C. (3-0) and the Colorado Storm (4-0).

Not much change, minor shifts in the middle with Tacoma United/Chelsea moving up with their win in the U13 division 1 winter classic this past weekend.  Crossfire James defeated the reigning national champions, Pateadores, in Las Vegas during pool play 2-1, nice win, unfortunately Pateadores got the last laugh with a 4-0 win against Crossfire in the finals.  Wpfc won the U14 division 1 winter classic dropping a game 1-3 to Snohomish in pool play but beating Efc and Snohomish in the final round.  Not a ton of teams in the 98 division at the winter classic but Wpfc white defeated Dos A squad in the finals and I placed them in the top ten, which should grab some people's attention for sure.  FP Fury has been in my top ten but has been on the outside looking in the last few times.  With one win, 2 ties and a loss this past weekend they will stay on the verge of cracking the top ten.

1.  Wpfc Black
2.  Crossfire James
3.  Eastside Red
4.  GRFC
5.  Tacoma United/Chelsea
6.  Whatcom
7.  Seattle United
8.  Rush
9.  Blackhills
10. Wpfc White

Honorable Mention:  Crossfire Black, FW Storm, FP Fury

Fury has one standout player #12.  WPFC 99 played them and actually looked better but couldn't find the net with a few good opportunities. Pateadores are an awesome team to watch.  It will make it fun at Surf Cup this year!

I think Fury has a couple of other good players as well, but it's all perspective.  Number 7 sticks in my mind as a reasonable player as well.

You could add a few honorables but honestly, do any of us think that TU is going to challenge EFC Rush or any of the top 5?  While I'm lurking in D2/3 I did manage to look up scores for the US state cup.   Looks like the best game of the quarters will be Rush vs. BHFC hands down.  BHFC does have 2 extremly aggressive forwards last time I watched, almost as aggressive as the parents   ::)

Good top 10 DK

There was some complaining about the thought of WPFC White or a DOS in the top ten but they are both making their way through the challenge cup and should be playing one another in the semi's, of course their opponents may have something to say about that.  The talk of xfire's b team holding their own against wpfc was washed away when they lost in pool play 0-7 to wpfc.  I'd like to see a wpfc white vs xfire black match up, just to see how the two fair but white is in the challenge cup and xfire black is in the us cup.

Predictions

xfire vs seattle U

Rush vs Black Hills

EFC vs Whatcom

Wpfc vs Grfc

I will take xfire, Rush, EFC and Wpfc.

I have tried really hard to keep my views to myself in this age group these days...last year my player was ready to up and quit soccer, and what a waste that would have been. Eventually his passion for the sport came back, but not until tryouts were over. I would have loved for him to have stayed with the powerhouse team, and receive coaching from Wade, but I am not the one running around on the field. In the end, the reason he wanted to quit is no longer of interest to him, and with tryouts quickly approaching I believe he is in a happier place to make choices he can live with for another year! LOL!

I can tell how many jump at any team that is not a Div. 1 team being in the top 10, but I have to say there are many out there that are a force to be reckoned with, especially if they would be competing with the Div. 1 teams more often...maybe they are not WPFC Black or Crossfire James level quite yet, but some certainly can hold their own.

I think we may see Mr Webber taking three teams to Far West Regionals this June.  He already has one, I believe the '99 and 98 teams will join his '93's.  Props to him!!

Not so fast, I'm sure xfire will have something to say about who goes to regionals, EFC is no slouch either at the 98 level.  I'm not familiar with the top 4 squads from the 99's.  I do know xfire 99 would love a rematch agianst the wpfc group that came back from behind in last years final.  The good thing is you won't have to wait long, two weekends to go until the semi/finals weekend.
