This year we are going to do it a little different. The Player of the Year will still be as special as it has been for the last many years we have did it.... BUT, instead of sending in votes for "player of the week" all summer/fall long, then voting on the winner we are going to do a "Totally Blind Vote"!
Here is the way it works:

RULES:

1. You must be a WPS member/poster to vote.
2. All votes will be sent to Dragon (me) in a private message only!
3. Voting starts NOW!
4. Voting ends December 15th at Midnight.
5. You may only vote for a player once.
6. Your vote may be for your own child, or any deserving child you have seen out on the pitch this year.
7. Each Vote MUST include a small write up (100 words or less) on why you feel they deserve to win this Awesome award.
8. I prefer the nominations to be from the "younger age groups" (U11-U14), but MAY be from any age group.

That is all the rules there are! Easy right?

*******make sure each nomination includes the player's name, age group, team, and number********

Things have changed so much since the '95s were U11.
Teams are in different leagues that never cross over. RCL teams isolated themselves from the Districts they service so neither sees the players on the other's teams; the PSPL took a high number of the select players and went their own way, NPSL is trying to reestablish District play as relevant, but if you aren't in it, you never see the players.

Nobody sees more than a few players in the league they are in with no way to compare or evaluate players.

HS has become the only way to compare a player's value to their team.

Even if one league has superior teams, it doesn't have an exclusive on superior players.

ALL nominations/votes will come to me.... (they are one and the same this year)

There will be NO online voting. (due to time constraints).... I will read each nomination/vote and I will make the overall decision on the winner.

Sorry to leave everyone out of the fun this year, but this way NO ONE will know the winner until it is announced

In the past BratJr has let people email the pix's to her then she sends them to me in the appropriate format. (hopefully that is ok with her still)

WOW, the nominations are flying in! There are sooooooooo many wonderful stories of some Really really Great players out there this year!
