GU15 RCL Division Predictions
« on: December 03, 2011, 11:11:13 AM »

Okay, based on where everyone finished at the end of last years Winter League and with a few teams not returning here is my prediction if the league goes with 8 teams in a division.
Based on perfomance this year though I think Harbor deserves a Div 1 seeding (maybe not)

Washington Premier FC ECNL
Northwest Nationals Red   Div 1
Columbia Timbers Red   Div 1
Whatcom FC Rangers Gold   Div 1

WSA Glory
Spokane Shadow Navy
Dos FC Premier Red   Div 1
Crossfire Premier A   Div 1
Sun City Strikers Lackey   Div 1
Harbor FC Premier   Div 2
Washington Rush Nike   Div 2

Greater Renton FC Blue   Div 2
Washington Premier FC Black   Div 2
Seattle United Copa   Div 2
Crossfire Premier B   Div 2
Snohomish United Black   Div 2
FC Alliance Gold   Div 3
Columbia Timbers Blue   Div 3
Crossfire Premier C   Div 3
Washington Rush Swoosh   Div 3
Dos FC Premier White   Div 3
Blackhills FC   Div 3
Whatcom FC Rangers Blue   Div 3

I think last year the older girls (U15 -U19)  had 12 team divisions because they only got 11 games for their season.  We'll see if they do that again this year.

Heard DOC meeting is going to happen soon.

Heard they may go with larger divisions and only play each other once.

Heard Spokane may be merging U15s into the U16s

Not sure if Three Rivers is in or out

Assuming ECNL teams are out.

League play starts the weekend of January 7th.

Will last Spring League's season-ending CAP scores have any weight as to the placement of teams?  Or is CAP dead and buried now? With approx 33-35 teams making up the RCL GU15 field for Winter/Spring League, either 4 divisions with home and away games (14 games) or 3 divisions (with 10-11) games seem to make sense.  If there's somehow only a total of 7 games, I want a refund from our Club!!

GOOD RIDDANCE! An improving CAP score during Fall 2010 season never got our team into Division 3 as it deserved!

Three Rivers only had 8 girls show up for tryouts.  They split them up between the U-16 A and B teams.

I heard through the grapevine that ASE has a U-15 team, full up.
3Rivers had their U-15 t0 U-18 tryouts today, perhaps enough players for 4 teams, more likely 3.   There was also a rumor that they were going to try to entice some players from select to RCL, but if they scrapped the GU-15 RCL, then there should be no need.

I have a daughter who plays RCL at U14 and in talking to many of the parents this is their last season of RCL. Most parents of the RCL girls will be content playing High School soccer and saving all the money and weekend trips to Seattle next season instead of playing U15+. Some have mentioned they might be interested in a district league that does not travel across the state.

That explains a lot.  I have 3Rivers Avarado as having done the Summer Kick Off and the NW Cup, 3Rivers Kelly as having just done the Summer Kick Off and I haven't seen the Rebels anywhere this year.

It might also be the reason why the transfer over to ASE of teams as ASE plays US Club soccer in our district.

"Heard Spokane may be merging U15s into the U16s."

I can put the above rumor to rest...both the Shadow U15G and U16G navy teams have full rosters at their respective age groups, and both will be playing in RCL Division 1 this spring.  Hope that helps clarify!

What about the Shadow Sky (B team) for each of the two age groups?  The Shadow website still shows a combined GU15-16 team, which seemingly would put them into the GU-16 pool of RCL teams.

I have the Glory as folding, that's why you see no division number after their name. The teams in maroon I have as not returning to the RCL from last year.   ;)

No if I was ranking the GU15 RCL from top to bottom here would be my ranking:

Eastside FC Red
Northwest Nationals Red
Crossfire Premier A
Columbia Timbers Red
Sun City Strikers Lackey
Harbor FC Premier
Dos FC Premier Red
Eastside FC White
Washington Premier FC Black
Whatcom FC Rangers Gold
Washington Rush Nike
Federal Way United Reign
Crossfire Premier B
Dos FC Premier White
Columbia Timbers Blue
Greater Renton FC Blue
Seattle United Copa
FC Alliance Gold
Sun City Strikers Mendoza
Blackhills FC
Northwest Nationals Blue
Eastside FC Blue
Washington Rush Swoosh
Crossfire Premier C
Snohomish United Black
FC Alliance White
Whatcom FC Rangers Blue
Snohomish United Red
Washington Rush Classic
Greater Renton FC Red
Seattle United Tango

WSA Glory: disbanded (Players: a couple to Victory / a couple to Timbers Red / a couple to Timbers Blue / most went to Oregon: FC PDX & ESUFC)
WSA Victory: playing in Oregon (OPL: Oregon Premier League)

I believe the Timbers Blue are playing in OR this year? Maybe a VUSA CP could confirm?

What taking the RCL so long to post the schedules...  Why does it always seem that the State is the last one to get their schedules out...It can't be that hard to decide who's playing where? The state even has less teams to worry about after losing the Timbers and the ECNL teams. The state sure makes it hard on the Team managers...

GU15 RCL

So the ECNL teams are gone (WPFC and Crossfire)
Spokane Navy is still in but no Sky team
Three Rivers is gone
WSA Victory is heading south
HPFC is still in

And that's all I'm aloud to say for now.

The 3Rivers team folded.   There were problems with the tryouts 2-3 years ago, the club tried to force a second Premier team, there were some politics being played, and the age group is reduced to one strong Select team.   ASE in the Tri-Cities has a strong team in that age group, though.

I would assume it was the GU15 team minus the HS players and would then may have used some U14s.

HPFC didn't have enough players the last two years for this agre group. They were combined U13/14 last year at U14 (with the one U13 team as well). In the fall, they were again combined U14/15 playing U15 (but with no U14 team as that team broke up). It will be interesting to see if HPFC gains players at this age group due to the DOS/GRFC merger. The two clubs currently have 4 teams at U15. I'd be suprised if they still carried 4 teams with the new club.

https://korrio.com/groups/gu15-1301460924/standings

The brackets are populated on Korri-slow now. No schedules yet though.

This U15 year is weird - especially this year with the Xfire & Wp ECNL teams out. Plus, all of the club consolidation & the crazy age for girls, I can see why they have a short D1 bracket.

This is an exciting time for soccer in our state & country. The changes happen quicker than the scheduling can adapt.

Plus, U15 is traditionally a weird age for girls anyway...

Div1:
EFC Red and NWN should fight it out for 1 & 2.  Edge going to EFC
Timbers and Spokane for 3 & 4
EFC White and Whatcom for 5th and 6th.

Div2:
Crossfire, Sun City and Harbor should be the top three.  I like Crossfire to win the Division.
The middle of the pack (5 to 6 teams) will be a dog fight.

Div3:
A fight between NWN and EFC.  to close to call

Div4:
I'll go with Sun City to take this Division
