Big Youth, thanks for your comments, although I am not sure if you are defending Bernie in some way. And as for not knowing the game, perhaps I don't have your soccer cred. While I may not be unbiased in my devotion to EFC, I am honest in my assessments.  I played 3 sports my whole life and ran up against many Bernies. And Bernie is a whiner who wants all the breaks. I loved beating the Bernies and hated losing to them...passionately on both accounts. But I played hard, win or lose, and then forgot about them until the next time we played. My father was my role model in sports...he would kick your butt on the field and then buy you a drink after the game was over.
Bernie obviously has produced a good product for Xfire, but he is a poor role model for kids. These kids are winning... at a price. Being called unsportsmanlike by the ref is hardly a laudable attribute, especially when you are winning the game. These kids are jaded and think they deserve to win every time out...quite sad actually. Sports are about fair play and playing the right way...win or lose. Sports teaches LIFE lessons. I am sure that several of his players will have long, fruitful careers at one level or another...how good a teammate they become is a whole other story. The EFC kids have each others back and care about each other and respect each other. They play as a team without concern about individual accolades. They play hard but   fair.Despite Edmonds comments, they are not malicious young men.The EFC parents and coaches would not stand for it. Don't get me wrong, winning is important, but character building at this age is more important. Sure I would love to see them win it all...that would be great. But I am more interested in my son  playing "Larry Brown "ball",ie, playing the right way: tough AND fair, respecting your opponent and learning how to win and lose with dignity. I am not so sure that this is Bernie's motto however. There is no place for losing in his world...

PvMS,  and you call others hypocritcal?

You call the Crossfire kids "jaded" and then question how good a teammate they may or may not be.  My son happened to play with quite a few of them this past year and  for more than a few months, and he spoke quite highly of them,  they were excellent teammates, and they were great friends and roommates.  I'm sure Mr. James has his faults and don't we all,  but to proselytize about how great the EFC team is as far as playing the right way, respecting your opponent and learning how to win and lose with dignity,  not only do you do a dis-service to the players and coaches of Crossfire you question/critisice, but to the all of the supporters of Crossfire (ie parents, sibliings, etc.) as a whole. In fact, you even go on to say how I call the EFC players malicious,  nothing is furthur from the truth,  I just call the EFC style of play malicious,  hacking and cheap at times.  That is a reflection of the coach, if he puts up with that stuff,  then a coaching change is necessary.

I'm sure EFC are a great group of boys/young men off the field, as I believe most all of the boys are,  and I know competition can bring out some of the best in us and some of the worst,  which we all need to rise above.

Edmonds, sounds to me like you are actively looking to move your son to Xfire. You should be their new team mascot,
Mr. Suckup  ;)  ;) If you think Bernie is the right coach for you, then why not try out.  Sounds like he has you buffaloed already...like all the other Xfire parents who are more interested in Winning than having their kids play

Addendum,  I have been severely reprimanded and corrected, my sincere apologies,  how dare I say "Eastside Red stinks" when I should have stated, " Eastside Red Flatulence at it's Zenith" ;)  ;)  ;)

Whome,  no I like WPS the best,  I just go over to the SSP when boredom sets in,  WPS  is the best.  What in the world are you talking about,  Dragon?   What is that all about?

Addendum,  I just found out why you were referencing Edmonds 55 to this "Dragon" character,  as Lloyd Bentson was once quoted,  " Sir,  I served Edmonds 55,  I know Edmonds 55,  Edmonds 55 is Einsteinian, and a friend of mine,  PvMS is no Edmonds 55." ;)  ;)

One can use Dragon or PvMS interchangably there if you will.
