Islander, really great to see Eastside White challenging themselves and playing where they belong. I thought the club had a rule against two teams playing in the same Cup?

They are both in Div 1, I bet the state said they have to.

Since EFC (the Club) used their mulligan last year to return the White team to the Challenge Cup, let's hope the State stepped in this time around.

State came out and said if you play in the RCL div 1 you play in the Champ Cup.

That's the rumor I heard.  I had zero confidence that EFC would reverse their club policy from last year. Zero.  And I'll bet the directive didn't sit well with the some people within the club.

So, if EFC White has a difficult Winter/Spring season playing in RCL Div 1, can the Club petition the State to get them back into the Challenge Cup?  It's early, but unless they get things turned around quickly their only hope for a victory or two in Div 1 might be the Whatcom Gold team (no disrespect Whatcom Gold -- there are some tough teams in Div 1 that you have to play twice).   EFC loves trophies -- losing, not so much.

Suprised that the RCL Division 2 teams are opting for the Challenge Cup instead of Championship. Does anyone know what is going to hapen with play ins? Is it for both Champions and Challenge? Will there be a Challenge 1 and 2 like last year?

There was probably a short 4 game league set up in Spokane so that they were qualified to enter.

So assuming they sign up for Championship Cup as the 16th team, does this mean there wouldn't be the need for any play-in games?  I can't remember how this works.   ??? ???

Best theory I have is WSYSA uses incantations and magic potions to come up with state cup rules.

We mere mortals can not understand such mighty goings on.

So we wait and watch from afar......

There is a Crossfire A G96- Smith team listed as applying for the Championship Cup but in the U-16 age group. Maybe just an error  ???

An error? Hopefully.

It looks like GRFC Blue though is opting for the Challenge Cup so without GRFC and Crossfire A that Cup stands at 14 entrants.

CK United has applied for the Challenge Cup.

And where's Whatcom FC Rangers Blue?  They're not registered for the Challenge Cup.

Okay so Crossfire A is now in the U15 Champions Cup.  And it looks like GRFC Blue has picked the Challenge Cup.

And that is where they  belong.. Apparently GRFC has given up on the 96 age group and is waiting for tryouts as well as the merger to improve the age group!!!!

So if there are 15 teams accepted into the Champions Cup that leaves one open slot for a 16 field team.

Option 1 is to go with one 3 team division and have no play-ins.

Option 2 is to go with the highest finishing RCL Div 2 teams that signed up for the Challenge cup and have a two team play-in.  That looks like it might be Crossfire Premier B v Washington Premier FC Black, but there are a lot matches left in Div 2.
