Spokane defaults playoff spot to Issaquah!

http://goalwa.wordpress.com/2012/07/16/issaquah-sc-to-take-spokane-shines-place-in-wpsl-playoffs/

The Spokane Shine can not afford to travel to San Diego for this week’s WPSL playoffs, according to a report on Inland Northwest Soccer. The club is set to officially announce the decision soon. Meanwhile Issaquah SC, who finished one point behind the Shine in the Northwest Division are apparently ready to take their place.

The league website (www.WPSL.info) already lists Issaquah SC as the opponent for the homestanding San Diego SeaLions this coming Saturday.

Damn shame.   Those ladies earned the right to play.   But coming up with another $10K plus, and then if they win, much more, is a daunting thing.

Encore! Bring our teams back for a 2013 season!

http://goalwa.wordpress.com/2012/08/02/the-wash-wpsl-deserves-a-northwest-encore-in-2013/

The Spokane Shine, Issaquah SC and Emerald City FC brought semi-pro women’s soccer to Washington this spring and summer, and the way they did it and what it meant to their communities proves to me that all three clubs deserve to return and play again in 2013. In fact, wouldn’t it be great if someone in Tacoma stepped up to field a team too? Maybe Bellingham? The more the merrier.

Emerald City FC head coach Niki Taylor looks back on WPSL season

http://goalwa.wordpress.com/2012/08/21/emerald-city-fc-head-coach-niki-taylor-looks-back-on-wpsl-season/

“Members of the youth clubs responded with very enthusiastic support this season.  Beyond just attendance at the games, they stepped up as host families and attended camps and clinics run by our team.  The ECFC G99 team traveled with us to Spokane and played a pre-game scrimmage.  The experiences were positive for both the community and our players and we’re looking forward to expanding on these opportunities in the future.”
