Surf Cup
« on: July 28, 2012, 03:22:09 PM »

Eastside and other Washington teams are in Del Mar for Surf. I'm streaming our matches if you're interested. Game one came down to a perfect corner kick from Haili with 3 minutes remaining as Eastside G95 defeated West Coast FC ECNL 1-0. Eastside plays the Richmond Kickers at 2:40 PM today and Santa Rosa Shock, the Cal North champions, tomorrow at 10:40 AM.

Check out today's game and the live streaming at http://www.efcg95red.com/. The link to the streaming is at the top under the main banner.

Congrats to EFC G96 Red winning the Surf Cup GU16 Gold Bracket today!  Way to show what the 96 age group can do in California!  Lots of sprained ankles and bumps/bruises but they still managed to win the final 2-1 over EGA.

Crossfire 96 ECNL had a tough draw in the GU16 Super Bracket going 0-1 against all three teams.

Good luck to the younger ages heading to Surf this weekend and represent WA State well!

Lets not forget NW NATIONALS G96 RED in the Gold division as well. They pulled off 2 ties at 0-0 and one loss of 0-1. It looks like some nice defense!

CROSSFIRE PREMIER 18 USSF ACADEMY pulled off 2 wins and 1 tie (only team to do so) and came out on top with 18 points in group play.
EASTSIDE FC G94 RED in the U18 Super lost 2 close games and won 1.
CROSSFIRE PREMIER G94A R. REECE in the U18 Gold won 2 games, tied 1, with only 1 GA, made it to the semis and lost by a close 1-2 game to the champs from NV.
CROSSFIRE PREMIER B95A COLLINGS in the U17 Super group tied 2 games and won 1 but was unable to advance past the 1/4 finals in a close 1-2 vs the tournament champs from CAN.
EASTSIDE FC G'95 RED - BIALEK had 2 wins and 1 tie in their U17 Super bracket, but lost in a close 1-2 match in the 1/4 finals to Real SoCal White ECNL.
WASHINGTON PRIEMER B96 BLACK came away split in the U16 Super, 1-1-1 in 3 close matches.
CROSSFIRE PREMIER B96A also came away split in their U16 Gold group, 1-1-1 in 3 more close matches.
CROSSFIRE PREMIER U16 USSF ACADEMY came away with 3 hard fought losses in Academy play.

One thing I did notice was how close the matches were. Many, many 1-0 games and 0-0 ties. Not too many high scoring differences. Excellent turn out by teams, whether they pulled off the championship or not. Nice to see that the many, many teams down there represented WA well!

Congrats to Eastside G96 Red for winning the Gold division, and to Crossfire's U18 Academy for winning the Academy division!

One thing I did notice was how close the matches were. Many, many 1-0 games and 0-0 ties. Not too many high scoring differences.

May have been the 30 minute halves. Pretty much erased fitness issues from the equation. For older teams, felt like the half was just getting started when it was over.

As for the Liveshell for game streaming, I'd HIGHLY recommend it. Once activated, almost forgot it was streaming the games. Would be a low-cost option if cost spread across team at ~$20 per player. For parents who can't attend events, made them part of the event. If someone video records your games, just plug it in and turn it on. Watch on UStream or embed player in team website or anywhere for easy viewing. Only limiting factor is Internet bandwidth. Needs a good hotspot. Verizon's 4G LTE was great in both Bay Area and Southern California.
