Sock'Em,

Did you run this add past the Crossfire Board?

Suggest you recruit a GK inside Crossfire with any of the u13 or u14 teams.

Why the heck would she need to run it past the XFire board?

I wouldn't be posting if there was a GK available in the U13 or U14 ages at Crossfire, but they are all at the tourney too.
thanks for your concern ChickenWing...   :D

Crossfire premier has 4 teams at gu13, 4 teams at u14, Crossfire select has 3 teams each at both u13 and 14.  So from all 14 the of the Crossfire teams represented within the organization not 1 gk is available?

Sock'em, this is a classic Crossfire tactic to recruit players.

And yes,  I have an email from Crossfire to not post on this site.

Chickenwing, aren't Crossfire Premier and Crossfire Select different organizations, operating with separate boards?

Holy Sh*t people! The Crossfire B team coach posts a harmless "need a keeper for this weekend" add, an open call to anyone for help. Then all of a sudden in 9 reponses, it's a recruiting conspiricy theory. Wow!! (not sure if I'm impressed or sickened by this). continue on!

No conspiracies.  No one rivals Crossfire in identifying and recruiting kids.

I know what Crossfire's response would be if any of their GK went to "guest" play for another club.

Sad isn't it?

Crossfire Premier has their own policy's on requesting for guest players and allowing access to their players as guests on other teams (as well as what their coaches and parents are and are not allowed to do around social media).

Crossfire Select's policy is never to deny a player an opportunity to play if invited to guest play for another team. If they get "recruited" away then it's either a great opportunity for them or they weren't happy playing on their existing team. Denying access to players is a fools game. It's common courtesy to have a player inform a coach when they are guest playing for another team but not a requirement. We do expect other clubs to follow roster rules around guest players and not having players train with multiple teams on a single day.

Crossfire Select also believes in free speech and does not try to limit where coaches, parents or players express their opinions about youth soccer issues. We do have some common sense rules around coach/player interaction that have been extended to social media to reflect modern times and technology, mostly for coach and club protection.

It's amazing what riles up some people on this forum. Chickenwing was lumping Crossfire Premier and Crossfire Select into the same program. I have always been under the impression they were separate entities within LWYSA. I responded to Chickenwing's post, asking if that were indeed the case (seems like a valid question) -- and received three 'negative' karma points. Y'all crack me up.  :drinks: :drinks:

Premier and Select are different programs within LWYSA.  Premier side dictates what Select can and cannot do.  Example: training schedules, tournament selection, tryouts and such.

If Bernie wants a select coach fired, they are removed.

If Premier side dictates what Select can and cannot do and Bernie has the power to get a select coach fired, that doesn't sound like two seperate entities.  It sounds like one entity controlled by Crossfire Premier.

Crossfire board prohibits posting info on this website.

Ok, so perhaps I'm naive, but why would Crossfire feel the need to "prohibit" posting on a website dedicated to soccer? Do they have something to hide? Seems bizarre to me that the organization would feel the need to not only restrict their coaches but to also extend their restrictions to players/parents. Would this not fit into Crossfire's business model, free adverstisement, because its a business right? Because it certainly couldn't be about the sport or the kids.

Bunch of Hooey if you ask me

and if you don't ask me its still a bunch of hooey

Totally untrue. The only power Crossfire Premier has over Crossfire Select is the same power any RCL club holds over another club in an association, which was granted to them by WYS.

Crossfire Select has it's own club bylaws, approved by LWYSA and operates according to the parameters of those bylaws. Crossfire Premier has as much control over Crossfire Select coaches as it does over Seattle United coaches...none...Select teams pick their own tournaments and set their own training schedules. Select holds their tryouts about a week after Premier because, well, it's stupid to hold them on the same day.

The 2 clubs go after totally different players, with completely different goals. I liken them to a competitive environment (I need to get better to beat out the other 14 players on my team to get selected to the A team next year) versus a cooperative environment (I need to get better, so the team gets better so we can move up to a higher division next year). There's very little player movement between the 2 clubs because of this. Different strokes for different folks.

Apparently you don't.  Two Crossfire players guest played for PacNW for the Rush tournament.

You play with "fire" you may get burned.

If a kid at Crossfire wanted to guest play with their rec friends, do so under the radar.

Victory, I'm glad your DD has a tremendous experience guest playing for Crossfire.

My 2 bits on Crossfire.  Crossfire players, especially the A squads, are restricted prohibited from guest playing with other clubs.  Crossfire discourages every single soccer program, except what they offer, viewing everyone on the outside as a competitor.  Includes any WYS program, Sounders, HS, etc...

Crossfire is very supportive of guest players joining their ranks, and defends the right of a player to do so.

Crossfire believes that all soccer roads lead to Crossfire.  It makes for good marketing.

I just have to ask this.   If a Crossfire coach asked for a guest player on this website and its against the rules, is it against the coach that posted to this website or us for reading the post?   It's not like the coach was hiding behind the post, she said what team, what age etc.    Not trying to throw stones here Chicken Wing.  Just not sure why you felt the need to start mentioning rules and making claims against Crossfire for recruiting violations?   A  player can only be recruited if they want to be recruited.    Just my opionon here it sounds like a little bitterness and defensive over a generic post that went out to everyone?  Any maybe you have valid points against Crossfire but you came off sound like a tattle tail.
