IF you are going by tournament results only how can you drop EFC to #5.  I know you are not counting friendlies but in the last EFC vs. WPFC Black it was 2-0.  Not sure how youcan always put EFC in the mid to low range of top 10. The fact that they have only played one tournament is the coaches choice but shouldn't drop them in the rankings.    As a parent it is kind of nice to not have these girls playing every tournament as they are still 9 and 10 year old girls who are not going to be burned out by September.

Based on the teams ranked (and those omitted) perhaps the results of the Harbor Tyee Cup were not entered.  No Harbor, Westsound, Nortac Teams, SSSFC Orion

BC is not personally ranking the teams.  He's using a super secret, ultra complex algorithm that is based on who-played-who and margin of victory and the moon phase on the day of the game (I heard it takes 4-computers 6-days to finish just one weeks calculations) . These "rankings" are only as good as the data entered, and when there isn't alot of it available (1 tourney for EFC), BC can't be blamed for where he "ranked" the said team.

Well, if you're going to bring up PDL games left footed one, then you need to also mention the other two encounters that WPFC Black had with EFC...remember the one you lost 7-1, or the 1-1 tie game?  Point is if you're going to bring up one friendly, then also mention the other matchups out of fairness.

I guess you gave Mufasa the "gold standard" on the other thread because he had you listed No. 1.  LOL     In any case, I tend to agree with your comments regarding how good Mufasa's rankings are (but it's still just as interesting to see BC's too   ), but maybe not for the same reasons.  I think computer programs are a great gut check on "people rankings", but they often times cannot account for the intangibles.  BC is providing a great service to us, i.e. giving us that statistical gut check.

I think that BC ranikings are pretty straight forward if you are going by how these top teams have played in the very recent past! Keep up the good work to all of you who take the time to follow all of these teams standings.

That ranking is based purly on a formula....numbers only.  No personal bias.

Lets say a team wins a tournament and gets (guessing) 25 ranking points for it, but that's the only tournament they play in.

Another team is tourny crazy and has played in 4 so far.  Each tournament doing just ok but earning 8 points per tourny for goals scored and a few wins...etc.  They would have 32 ranking points and be ranked higher then the team that won it's only tournament.

Not totally fair, but by the numbers would be the way it is.

Remember, rankings are fun....that's all.  Trophys are bragging rights and placing high in the fall also tells it all. ;)

Actually my rankings aren't based on cumulative points, so it really doesn't matter how many tournaments or games you play.  It is based on averages of every game you play.  If you only play one game against a ranked team, you will get a value, but the more games you play, the more accurate your ranking will become.

I'm torn on saying a thing in regard to standings, however if the rankings are based on tournement results, how can you have FCV ahead of EFC red when they played head to head with EFC winning in the Rainier challenge final? We (EFC red I'm out of the closet) also played WPFC black and won 2-0 two weeks ago at starfire in the PDL. You probably don't have access to that information. Bully for you for putting the list together.

I'm having a flashback...LOL    We've already covered this, i.e. see the post made by 2left feet and my reply on page 1.  If you're going to bring up PDL games, then you need to also mention the other two encounters that WPFC Black had with EFC...remember the one EFC lost to WPFC Black by a score of 7-1, or the 1-1 tie game? Point is SA, if you're going to bring up one of the PDL games (the one EFC won), then in all fairness you should also mention the other two matchups as well.  If this is a "what did you do yesterday rankings", then fine.  But, I'm under the impression it's a summation of all past performances.

Sure GD I understand what your saying, but it is all about what have you done lately? I mean sure the Huskies beat the Hurricanes a while back but I'm talkin about NOW. It's funny you told me that your girls energy was down and I agree that happens. You never did seem to mention that perhaps our team improved. The results speak for themselves. WPFC and EFC met 3 times during the PDL First meeting (EFC's first or second game together as a team), WPFC dominates 7-1 second meeting mid-season 2-2 tie (about the time EFC is running the table at Rainier cup), last meeting 2-0 shutout. Do you see a pattern developing here? Do you think just maybe one of these teams is getting better? Give credit where credit is due. I don't mind being in 5th position on someone's list, heck that is a complement, but it doesn't make any sense that we have beaten 2 of the teams ahead of us in head to head play in the last 2 months and we are behind them. Thanks for hearing me out.

If this is a "what did you do yesterday rankings", then fine. But, I'm under the impression it's a summation of all past performances.

Correct me if I'm wrong but he titled it the "BCS rankings" BCS stands for "bowl coalition series" As far as I know if you lose in college football you move down the list. Anybody? However if it is a popularity contest....well EFC doesn't do very well in those :o

Oh come now fella's (ladies?), both WPFC and EFC are great clubs with a great rivalry.

Think both of your U11 teams will be there at the end when it counts ;)

Last year the 2 clubs played a lot of great games together and Dragon remember reading bout a lot o great times had by both clubs and friendly bets and payoffs between the two. (just ask soccer mama and gumby).

Hope you two can over look the small stuff and build a friendship like last years CP's.......  If you have hard time now it will only escalate in da years to come ;)
