Force and NWN went to the wire today.  Great game today.  Froce came out and showed they were ready to compete with the top teams.  Both teams had opps early and often.  Force GK was today POTG.  She made 17 saves and stopped 4 breakaways.  The only goal scored came with less then 30 seconds remaining. The Force keeper looked like she had a hand on the ball when a player from NWN scored.  Hard to tell from 50 yards away but the Force GK came off saying she had her hand on.  Bottom line great game hard loss for the Force girls.

NWN outplayed 90% to 10%
« Reply #5 on: October 15, 2005, 05:25:57 PM »

The only thing that kept Force in the game was their defense, #4 and goalie.  It was not even a close game other than the score.  And, NWN players all heard the coach trying to convince the ref the goalie had the ball, but all the NWN players there by the goalie said no way, she did not have it.  Fair goal!!!  NWN is in a bit of rut now, but their style will prevail over the boot ball taught elsewhere in D1.  But great game outside my biased opinion.  Force will do well against Eclipse.  Go Force!

90% to 10%?
Sounds a little CP modified to me.  I have seen both the Force and Big Red play and I think the force is better than getting crushed like that.  I can see maybe 65% to 35% but what do I know, I wasn't there.  Do you have any stats to  back your claim?

SilverLake Stars over Badger 94  3-0.

This was an up and down battle from the start.  Game was closer than the score indicates.  Badger had oppportunities, but couldn't finish.  Silver defense very tough today, with an opportunistic offense.  Very hard fought game by both sides.  Great game to watch.

Royals 94 Blue 4 verses Dos 0
« Reply #9 on: October 15, 2005, 07:32:13 PM »

Well the River Road Girls did it again but you have to give a lot of credit to the DOS Girls and their Goalie who was hammered. She did a great job of stopping the many shots on goal.
The Royals Girls were not at their best today. Saw a lot of bunching and boot ball but a win is a win. I am sure they will hear about it on Monday at practice from their Coach who who was not at all pleased with their play.

The DOS Girls played hard and sometimes were a bit too physical which I am sure was out of sheer frustration. RRG's scored early on and it was 2 to 0 at the half. Then they came on again and scored another 2. The RRG Defensive Team was on the ball today. They saved a few shots on goal when their goalie was pulled out otherwise the outcome might have been a little different. Anyway, no rain and it was a good day for all.

I would say it was 60 - 40 NWN.  Both teams had opps in the 2nd half to score.  It really was a great game. I know 90 - 10 was not the case.

Not a CP from either team.  Just a biased (I'll admit it) fan of NWN style of coaching.  Okay, maybe not 90-10, but better than 60-40.  Force had only a few shots and a couple of sitting right in front of NWN goal to no avail.  NWN had multiple shots, didn't the post prior say goalie saved 17 shots and 4 breakaways? plus the lingering ones in front of the goal.  That should speak a ton.  Force is doing awesome.   Have seen them play before.  They will be a "force" to be reckoned with.  Ha ha. (laughing at my silly not the team).

I didn't think it was 90-10.  Thanks for the update, I just hate to see a team get a bad rap for a game well played.  I have seen #4 stop many opportunities, she has got to be one of the top defenders there are, and the goalie is among the top also.  Any game the Force play should be a good one. :P
Good luck to the Force, maybe my dd can play for them next year :D

Force NWN game
« Reply #18 on: October 15, 2005, 11:51:35 PM »

Wow 4 beakaways must have been at the coffee stand and missed those.  There was not four breakaways keeper for Force made some good saves but in no means four clear breakaways. Good game Force has improved a bunch. I think Red may be having issues again with finishing problem. Should have had a few today not just one at the last second.  The force keeper must have bent over to pick up the ball at least a dozen times. Force keeper can kick it pretty good big drop kicks big girl. If you hit the corners it is in if you kick it at her she has it. Tremndous desire to get a goal by Nationals at the end kept trying and finally got it. Last week same thing tremendous pressure at end but hit post and could not get it in. I agree with other post NWN have the skills in D# 1 They play again will be a good one Force will give Eclipse all the can handle.

Alliance website says 1-1 tie with Patriots.  Not sure if it correct as the Alliance webmaster has made mistakes posting scores before.

We have played both teams and they have a similiar playing style that I thought could bring a tie today.

That was a hard game to watch.   Soccer Mama: If they Royals didn't bring it today against us...I sure would hate to see 'em when they do!!!!      :?    :?    :?  They totally deserved the win.  They are a terrific squad!

That was an awesome first goal LCC...and it was great to see you and your parents!~   ;)  ;)  ;)

I couldn't stay away...but I won't really post much more~ I will tell you, I have one REALLY down in dumps little soccer player.  Hard to keep telling her it's not all about winning... even though as a parent I believe that... my DD seems to be basing her abilities as a player on team wins.

Hey Dos girls~~Keep your chins up...we are half way through the season...and no where near State Cup...PLAY TOGETHER.  PLAY AS A TEAM.  PLAY YOUR HEARTS OUT!!!!  And I'll keep cheering you on!~~

Roller try and remember when the going gets tough and you stop posting .....what's that saying to your DD? I'd say your not posting and her worrying about wins go hand and hand. Try to set the example with your actions and your words....just a thought.

Oh and it's not about wins. I know a certain "girl" player heading to national camp that's on a team that hasn't won a game yet.

Dragon not do too bad wk#6   :P

Final record 10 wins and 8 losses., have winning record in each Division and bracket except for D1 Red   (go figure  )

Some of the highlighted games in Dragon minds are:

DISTRICT 1 RED

Badgers and Silverlake:  wow, Dragon remember asking in post if any team could notch a loss for the team from "wisconsin".  Dragon knew would be good game, but holy cow, the Silverlake Titan killers brought it! and kept bringing it.  What an effort.  Against the team with the "best defense" you gals really turned it on.  It should be a great week in the land of lakes of silver, the CP's will hold a parade on Tuesday Dragon heard and the Silverlake coach is to receive the Key to the city!!   Great Job SilverLake

DISTRICT 1 BLUE

NWN red and Force:  Holy contested % rates Bat-Duffer
All the CPs arguing over 90-10, 80-20, 52.5-47.5   What does that really matter anywho?  (Dragon know truth anyway ;) ), the main thing is it was great game.  NWN girls would and refused to lose 2 in a row, closing was not what it could have been but we all have off days, and give credit to the Force goaly.  She played spectacular.  No parade for NWN girls though, back to the drawing board and practice on finishing all week (ya hear me coach  )

DISTRICT 3 GP

EFC White and Aanvallen Green:  If you didn't believe in the "curse of the Dragon" you CP's from EFC white, then you better start believing now.  What a week....First "getalife" wins the contest of a life time  , then Dragon trys to trick fate and pick EFC to lose to Aanvallen.  Little did Dragon know that fate is a cruel prankster and is laughing right now at Dragon and Poor EFC white.  What is a poor Dragon to do, it all Dragon's fault about curse    Dragon will think of way to lift the curse this week though ;)   Poor EFC girls got a lessen on how not to be off-sides that they will not soon forget. (bright spot is at least you got 1 point for the tie)

DISTRICT 3 GT

Crush and Crossfire Amy:  The AMY girls should be holding a parade of their own today on the 60 acre fields (Dragon hear that DUFFER is gonna be the grand-marshall ;) )  What a game, oh what a game.  The mighty Crush, the girls with the golden boots and tangerine dreams should have Stomped the little X-fire team.  But like when David squared off with Golieth, things didn't turn out the way people thought they would.  What a fantastic game by the AMY gals.  Never have Crush looked more frustrated ;)   The whole game went on and the Crush appeared to be mighty elephants but its sure hard to shoot straight with flys buzzing all around your face.  Great Game and if it ended about 8 minutes sooner it would have qualified for the "Game of the Year".

Dragon got another team to talk about, but think they deserve even more "special consideration"

Stay tuned for Dragon Predictions, week #7

Squash, I think I was not very clear...I just meant couldn't/wouldn't post much more about that game!  Or maybe post much more this morning...Never not post much more on W.P.S.

How could I stop posting about the teams I love???!!!
Wow..pretty harsh reaction on your part Mister... ;)  ;)  ;)
I never ever say it's about the big "w"...It's all about my TALENTED, SMART, ATHLETIC, BEAUTIFUL, FUNNY, AWESOME, KIND, SWEET, FAMILY LOVING, CHRISTIAN daughters...(and son   )
I just meant to convey that BIG MAC is taking the loss hard...not me!  It was hard to watch...but they are more dissappointed in themselves than anything!

I'll be back later... ;)

I was impressed with X-fire Amy against crush as well, but what about the Eagles-G against Reign?  They kept the game to a tie.  The Eagles-G have given up the 2nd(tie) most goals and scored the least amount(tied) and they were able to tie the Reign.  On the other hand, the Reign has forced the 4th most goals and has given up 2nd least amount of goals.  So was it a poor showing for the Reign or a great showing for the Eagles-G?
