tell me about it.... I used to be a starter, but daily life (LPT's and wedding) has got me ridin' the pine.... splinter picker and Dragon... I need your help!
Here's the thing: We are considered a PRO team, as there is no other higher organized league for women to play since WUSA folded.... as this is a friendly I would say I wish I knew more than 2 subs would occur, but that answer is unknown! When it comes to the season games, we are only allowed 6 subs anyways and these have to be used wisely (I'll use France as an example in the finals, best goal scorers on the bench or ejected leaving weaker PK takers on the field!!)
It shouldn't be a bad/sad thing for your dd to see coach sit and not play, as it should be a life lesson instead. Everybody, awesome players and weaker players, have to sit at some point. All the girls on this roster are amazingly talented women who at some point never sat the bench. It is a life lesson for me as well! I am even more supportive of those who get the call off the bench. Hoping that will be their chance to prove that they deserve a spot on the field.
Sitting makes me more of a team player! It should do the same for your dd. Take it as an advantage to see the game from a different perspective. Watch the game, study the game, study the opponents weaknesses and attack that when your chance comes... this is how you improve along with PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!!
Hope to see you there... it'll be a great motivating game for girls of all ages!!!
