Based on how hot it will likely be down there, the field will probably feel like a "Ring of Fire!"  Shouldn't that give the Johnny Cash girls the advantage.

Okay, I added some lyrics....LOL

The Beaverton Sun Is A Burning Thing
And It Makes For A Fiery Field
Bound By Wild Desire
The Girls Jumped into A Field Of Fire

The Girls Jumped Into A Burning Field Of Fire
They Kept Playin’, Playin’, Playin’
And The Flames Went Higher

And the Beaverton Sun Burns, Burns, Burns
The Field Of Fire
The Field Of Fire

Keepers Are Diving
Mids Are Thriving
Forwards With Lightning Speed
But Defenders Protecting the Lead

The Girls Jumped Into A Burning Field Of Fire
They Kept Playin’, Playin’, Playin’
And The Flames Went Higher

And the Beaverton Sun Burns, Burns, Burns
The Field Of Fire
The Field Of Fire

The Taste Of Winning Is Sweet
When Teams Like Ours Meet
When the Cash Girls Finally Took the Cup
Shocked Mufasa Was Heard Mumbling “What the F#%$”

And the Beaverton Sun Burns, Burns, Burns
The Field Of Fire
The Field Of Fire

WPFC Black played Marysville Force this morning.  WPFC Black beat the Force, 1-0.  It's possible WPFC, the Force, and Westside Metros are headed for a three way tie depending on what happens in the morning.

Great Dane:   You might be WPFC Black CP??   If so, need you to know how impressive your girls played today.    They fought Marysville hard the entire game, and their goal was a very good goal.    Look forward to a re-match (hopefully tomorrow in the Finals if it all works out!)

Looks like the WSM Strikers beat WPFC today in the final and Force '95 will play Dos Red in a consolation game.  Interesting.

Are some of the Beaverton scores wrong?? I was at some of these games and unless I just completely lost track (always possible in the heat) these aren't right.

Yes, I am a CP of the WPFC Black 95ers, and thanks for the compliment on our girls.      The girls knew what the Force had accomplished at Diadora, and they were pumped for this game. The Johnny Cash girls have been improving and are really coming together.  It was so much fun to watch, as the Marysville girls are such a great team as well.  I think one factor was that our #17 is blessed with enough speed of her own to chase down your roadrunner fast #10, who was fantastic at Diadora.  I think we were both a little caught off guard with how well the Strikers from Oregon played as well.  They had a defense that could really dig in. This was a very tough tournament and all the teams should be very proud.

PS...I saw you at fields, but only approached you when you were in the shade.  It was too hot to do otherwise.

Here's the scoop.  It's all accurate as I was there to witness it.

Friday:
Strikers beat WPFC 2-1 on Friday, while the Force was having their way with DOS, 8-0.  WPFC was a little flat after a 3 hour car ride that morning, but still had oppurtunities with balls bouncing off the posts.  With that said, the Strikers played well and it was obvious they were a tough little team who would make some noise in this tournament.

Saturday:
WPFC beat Marysville Force 1-0.  Again, tough game and all the girls played well.  The Stikers beat DOS 2-0.

Sunday:
In the morning, it was looking like it might be a 3 way tie if Marysville were to beat the Strikers and WPFC beat DOS.  WPFC knew they needed a 3 point differential against DOS if it went to tie breakers.  WPFC beat DOS 3-0, so they were going to be in the finals no matter what.  One of our CP's quickly drove over to the field where the Stikers and Force were playing to get the score (games played at the same time).  Stikers beat the Force, 1-0.  So, it was a rematch of the Stikers and WPFC Black for the finals.  I'll try not to get into too much detail here, but the game ended in a 1-1 score.  WPFC dominated play almost the entire game, but the Stikers defense played with fire and would not let the Johnny Cash girls score.  Shot after shot was rejected by defenders and a couple nice saves by their keeper.  WPFC could have probably scored on a breakaway, but as the WPFC player was pulling away, a Striker defender grabbed the arm of the WPFC player and pulled her to the ground.  The intention was obvious and CP's erupted from the sidelines as the WPFC girl didn't get up.  However, after a few minutes she did get up and played on.  Homer Ref did not give the Stikers player a yellow....just a warning.  In any case, game ended in a tie and went to PKs.  After the first 5 girls, it was still tied, with the WPFC Keeper making the only save to preserve the tie with the other shots on both sides either going in, wide, or over the top.  Then it was sudden death.  Stikers girl kicked the ball to her left and the WPFC Keeper dove to the post, and the ball went wide left.  The the next WPFC girl put it into the net to give them the victory!!     It was exciting and all the girls should be very proud.

I give a lot of praise to the WPFC girls, because they went down there and played in 100+ temps with only one sub...that's right, 12 girls in a 11 aside tournament.  One of the girls was sick to her stomach on Saturday (one of our strong defenders) and could not play, so the Johnny Cash girls played with no subs on Satuday against the Force.    What grit.     We all had a blast and it was fun to play against such great teams.   ;)

why did the CP's erupt from the sideline?  Was the intention that obvious?  It was a homer ref?  Hmmmm  Nice report otherwise

Sorry my furry friend, but when I'm not at the soccer fields I also must work for a living so I can’t always reply immediately.  But, to answer your question, YES it was very intentional and very obvious (as I said in the original post).  Getting pulled down from behind is how people get hurt, and it should have been cause for AT LEAST a yellow card.  Basically it was this player’s last-ditch effort to prevent a sure goal on a breakaway.  Obviously the CP’s on the sidelines did not appreciate this intentional foul that could have caused serious injury, and they were pleading for at least a yellow card.  A foul is one thing (bad calls happen all the time), but an obvious foul such as this that is done to prevent a score and one that could caused a potentially bad injury is something nobody should be allowed to get away with.  I doubt anyone will disagree with that.

Haven't seen / read much of anything yet from the big cat.  As a matter fact, in his newest rankings WPFC Black 95 is ranked lower than the Force who they beat in the tournament (Force not making the finals and getting shut out in two games).  Go figure.  Was it that WPFC had zero subs (the only sub the team had was sick and couldn't play) for the game against the Force?  No, that can't be it, because that should make the win even more impressive.  Oh, could it be that WPFC had no guest players and instead just went with their own 12?  No, that can't be it, because that should make the win even more impressive.  Hmmmm.....this is a mystery that only big beard can solve.  Maybe Big Cat is just smart and did it this way to generate Bla Bla.  That's the only thing I can come up with.

Force had know guest players, and they had one sick player too. But she still played  I heard marysville had control of the game, that WPS  got lucky this time.Do they know how to pass the ball??look like a kick and see how fast you go team. :| I call them a boot team when thats all you got thats all you can do. Some times you can win that way, but it will eat you up in the end,You must play as team.

Interesting comment

OK you big danish, just cuz you beat another team 1-0 don't mean that you automatically better. 4-0 mean better 1-0 mean close game and you evenly matched.
