Did they lose players?  Last year they were pretty strong.  At Diadora they did not look nearly as strong.

That is correct and I thought out played them.  Lake Oswego looked the best from what I saw.  Federal Way Purple had moments where they looked like the best team out there and moments where they looked out of wack.  Watch out for them if they get it all together.

Just curious how you came up with placing WPFC in th 7th place position and the Rangers (?) in 5th...

Mommykick- Who knows maybe I'm wrong, go ahead and switch WPFC and Rangers no big deal. BUT off tournament results and friendlies WFC Rangers Gold sure appear to be the real deal, although early in the summer. Also, it appears that WPFC had a tough time in Boise but don't know the facts, just the scores the website reports. :mrgreen:

You are right WPFC did have a rough time in Boise  no doubt.  I was just curious thats all.  I really only "know" a few teams on the list you gave.  The summer tournaments are all about trying new thngs and developing your skill of play... I know that WPFC was trying out a new defense.  All these little gals are getting themselves gearded up for the LPT's next year....Its all good.  Keep on keeping on in other words "shine- on" shine

I know that rankings are sort of "what have you done lately" so one good tournament moves a team way up--sort of their 15 minutes of fame--makes it fun!  My 2cents--I would rank Coumbia Timbers higher because, win or lose, playing tough competition means more than beating easier competition.  Timbers faced harder competition than Independence, so they would be up on my list.  Momskick--WPFC would fall under this same idea. Your girls may lose by 1 or 2 goals (or more) down in California, but you will be playing some of the best teams the nation has to offer.  Same with Em City down at Surf.  It's just a whole different level of play than local.  The older Em City, Crossfire and WPFC teams never play in Washington anymore--it's all national play.  

It's hard to tell if the Rangers are "for real." Beating teams 11-0 at the Firecracker or winning Baker is not really indicative of constant, steady superior play.  They have played Snohomish as really the only top team BUT they played them really close. I for one hope they are "for real."  It's always fun to add new blood to the same faces

the 24 could simply be that at u-13 there are just so many more teams than at u-11 or 12  They have what I think is the best keeper we have seen (but we have played against  her on 3 teams in the last year)

I am goingto go way out on a limb and say Reign will be top 2 or 3 by year end.  This team has way to much talent to not do well if the coach can get them all together.  Rev will be/ should be top 10 also.

Victory:  I don't think you have gone out to far on the limb to say that Federal Way Riegn Purple have improved.  I agree with you.  I can see that the whole team chemistry is good and the defense is played by all the players and not left to the few standing in front of the goalie.  There is a new play making going on at Federal Way which shares the ball.  The defense feels like they are part of the attack and not just there to retrieve the ball.  Fun team to watch so far.  Hope it doesn't all break down for them.  That chemistry is fragile.  A lot of teams who want to improve should see this team in action.

Federal Way could be one of the more interesting stories this year.

The Ranger's might be another interesting story although I have not seen them yet.  From what I've read they are a good team.

It wasn't just, it was that Freedom hasn't done much to show  that they are the better team and deserve to be in the top 40. I heard Freedom played a Friendly against Reign Purple and lost 8-0. WOW!

Lightning just seems to be getting better every tournament, plus, even though they lost against Westsound because of player availability, they dominated every game they played, even the Westsound game until the bad PK call. I saw them dominate Blue Lightning, who was an okay team and then killed ISC white. They probably would have scored more, if the coach allowed it. I know they were better than at least 2 of the teams who reached the semis at that tournament. Again, we are talking about a team in the top 40 not the top 20, so hopefully you understand that I am justifying why they are in the 30+.

Having played both I would put Lightning slightly ahead of Freedom.  That said it is really hard to gauge because Freedom was clearly playing for 0-0 tie so had no shots on goal but by design.

Nineteethree- Your rankings are I fine accept you have Blast in same company as Timbers, Force, Skagit not even close IMHO. They actually have were outplayed and lost to Victory which you placed behind them, you may want to rethink where you put them, who knows??

Blast did lose their keeper.   She is on Lightning.

By the way until Victory can pull out the important game like the semi with Suncity where we dominated but lost on PK's I think we are right where we belong. :roll:
